The Judgement Of The Wicked And The Blessings Of The Righteous

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Psalm 37:1-40 KJV
1 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

In this Psalms The Lord is protector of the righteous. The righteous being any that believe and follow him. Righteous by the old code based on what made Abraham righteous was that he believe God and it was credit to him as righteousness. Wicked ultimately perish. Often we look on this earth for the wicked to fall on our earth, but we fail to realize that when they do not, their day of judgement will come. The day of judgement for the wicked is that they are cut off from life everlasting. Now the word is not everlasting, but that they will perish. Some people for whatever reason rather have all they can get or take from the world, caring little how they do so. They get to where they going by their pure wicked deeds, and righteous look on as if to say that just not fair. That just is not fair is a judgement call, but don't fret, because there is a day coming to the wicked.

Ever watch the wicked climb the ladder of success only to reach the rung in the ladder that is broken and not able to reach the next rung, because the other rungs had been supported by the ladder. The second set was fixing to break, because of rust, damage, people reaching the top not by their own merit but the merit of others. That when those that reached the broken rung had no place to stand because it was not a solid step in the ladder. In fact the one climbing had broken most of the other rungs trying to climb higher, never caring his load of crime, wickedness to reach the top had no firm foundation in which to stand. In fact it was a miracle he got has high as he did on a ladder that was begining to look like two stilts. Sooner or later despite how balanced a stilt walker he is, he will either fall or have to step off. It a sad fact, but footing in a job can mean destruction or a solid construction.

What can be said the wicked will fall and even perish but those on solid faith in Christ will not only be taken care of, but may not be rich by human standards, will not be seen begging bread. I think to myself that why does the government pushes the weak, with high gas price, increase in interest on credit, increase on other products that are government controlled, never realizing that what they do is rob the very ones they claim to be helping, claiming it is to better society, or force people to be overwork by extra long hours, and extra days to make ends meet. Never caring how it done, only caring that it is done. Never considering that why unemployment on the rise and those grabbing the lower jobs can only work them for a time with double shifts. If everyone worked one job and got fair wages people would have time to smell the roses. They have time to think and enjoy life, spend money that they are earning or saving for those things they need. Despite the government sense of balance sooner or later it falls. We watched the government economics fall more then once in our nation, and it will occur again. Greed is at the top of the reason why. If compassion was at the top then things would be built on a solid ladder of construction that fails not, but the poor would not be getting poorer and struggling not because of fear to work but because wicked rise above them in this world.

David is a man that started out poor as a shepherd boy, only to be anointed as king, defeat Goliath and many enemies of Israel. He was consider one of the best kings ever lived, and yet he was righteous by faith, and wicked in regards to sinning against his own soldier when he stole a soldier's wife. We must ask what we call just and good is their evil in the life of a man. In Genesis 6 God calls all manking evil. In truth there more evil in mankind then what we wish for, but it only because of the need to provided for the desires of the eye and even the mind and heart. Man is trapped by his fleshly nature and not always his sense of faith. Faith leads you where the soul desires, and unbelievers road leads only where the desires of the lust of the flesh can go and the greed of the wicked.

If we live on faith alone, it takes hope for God's provision. Yet faith also waits for God's judgement on the wicked. Many of faith stand on the stilts of faith that the wicked have destroyed the rungs of the ladder on. Yet the poor will not fall as far as the wealthy. One must ask why, because what they have is the shirt on their back and the prayer for their daily bread on their lips, and need for the basic in merger amounts and no how to survive without. It the difference in knowing how to stir with a spoon or having to have the fancy mixer or blender. It the difference in riding a horse or walking at low speed or driving a new sports car. Knowing how to live without electronics and living with them. It is the knowing how to survive with only those things less cumbersome. One is always looking for the easy out when they have more then common sense. Yet it does produce jobs of productivity it is things that will not survive a cold war.

I look at shelves in our stores and wonder is it a pandemic all over and I say no it is tax season once more. Yet people are looking at what things they ran out of during the pandemic and buying more of those things this time. Is toilet paper still on the shelf in most stores, it seems to be so far, but the truth of the matter it the little things that make our life better that are missing from store shelves this year. First thought is the economy, or stock finally ran low. Then I realize something more it not stock, it not economy, it people buying those things once more and now the supply and demand is up. Even the wicked know how to fuel economics, to make the items they desire be more desirable.

The rich get richer, the credit rates go up, the fuel price rise and remain the same because simply the rich is still angry over the loss of their wealth, and give no breaks to the poor beyond a stimulus package. Yep they will be paying it back through raised prices. That is life, but simply does it move economic world, it does and can. Does it fuel the market? The market of worldly desires and not just the basic survival things, like food, clothing and shelter.

Does God want us to have the things of this world? One thing we never see Jesus has having material wealth nor his disciples. Jacob desire to make his wealth before he trusted in God for it. He told God if he got back to Bethel then the Lord would be his God. That when God took the most desired thing from his heart when he returned to Bethel, his wife Rachel, only to say will you still serve me. The answer comes with a new light Jacob wrestled with God physically and God still showed his power. Jacob wealth came from his greed. He learned it from his mother side apparently, for Laban even deceived Jacob for Jacob only deceive Laban in raising a flock that was strong and leaving the weak to Laban.

The acts of wick rise and are known, but it is the final outcome of the wicked that will cost them their very life, their very faith. When did Jacob have faith restored maybe when he seen his son Joseph siting on a throne in Egypt. Many things taken from him because of evil acts, but heart restore with seeing his young son alive, the last son of his beloved wife Rachel. The righteous not begging bread, but buying wheat from the wicked people of Egypt that fear the God of Joseph, until the Pharaoh of the time of Moses came to power. Jacob not evil completely, because of his faith, but God would bring him to his knees only to bring him hope in his last days. God's correction is painful, but God's blessings are amazing. Amazing for the righteous, amazing because God's hand is upon the righteous. God corrects the heart of all the sin in the life of man.

Let us wait to see if the wicked is corrected and God's mercy received, or if the wick final destruction is seen on the earth when Christ return's. Evil will be revenged, fear not just wait and see what God does. Take time to study the Psalm above and see the blessings of the righteous and the outcome of the wicked in each section of the Psalm. Ask yourself, better to be righteous, for the day of reckoning can come as a thief in the night.

Dear Heavenly Father, give us grace to understand to have faith is greater then the wealth of the world. Remind us that God takes strong steps against the wicked to bring some to their knees and some to destruction. Yet giving every man that choice to follow him and to use what they have for God's glory. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 12:17-21 KJV
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
