Spreading Of The Love Of God 04/04/2021
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRomans 5:1-5 KJV
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Today is Resurrection Sunday. The women went to the tomb to finish the burial process by pointing ointment and spices on the body, only to find Christ had risen from the grave. How does his resurrection in itself gives us new life? When we are buried with him we are then resurrected with him. Dying to sin, but arising to a new life. Yet it is more then that. Do we believe Christ arose this morning on the third day? Do we believe he died for the sins of the world? Do we accept his death on the cross for atonement/payment for our sin? Do we believe that Christ prophesied his death and resurrection? If you do not believe, you do not have faith and your faith can not be justified because you simply do not have none. Faith is something hard to describe to some degree, because it takes belief in what is humanly impossible has come to pass or even scientificially impossible to have happened. In the finite world this is impossible in the spiritual world, and by the power of God this is possible. When church teaching for thousands of years has preached this same Gospel around the Globe and the question come to the church how is it possible, the only answer is faith. The only one that can justify faith is the one that gave in the first place and that is God through his word. What? Exactly God proves himself to mankind for centuries because of people of faith needing evidence to build faith in God has they live in the world the in. God must move his people from the Pharaoh land to the promise land of faith, hope, and trust in him.
Many children become indoctrinated into faith by being raised in church. Yet it takes more then indoctrination to keep faith alive and growing. It takes faith of the church showing the love of God that arises in their hearts upon belief In God to help influence the world of ungodliness for God and to keep those not only indoctrinated by faith, but to instill the church value of love through all circumstances in life. Not one person being above another, but all going through problems, struggles and heart ache as well as joy and exuberant excitment of answers to prayer, doors opening and God speaking to the heart his promise to grant our desires of our heart. To experience God is never enough to keep us in faith. It easy to write off experience as some type of phenomon. Yet it part of the process of faith in God, because not only our life is effect by God power, work in our life but others are influenced by you as well as me in our walk in faith. It the idea of being able to forgive others beyond human capabilities at times, the loving nature of caring for people in need, or even not in need. The general love for one another. That love can only be given to a person upon first believing, as the Holy Spirit comes to live in their heart.
Our human nature at times is not to love. Our anger our resentment and even at times hate, is not the love of God. The love of God comes through spiritual change and new birth through receiving Christ as Lord and Savior. If God can love you and me despite our sin, then we ought to love others despite their sin, even if it not a sin we have committed ourselves.
Christ through the cross as forgiven our sin, when will mankind turn away from sin to experience new life in Christ. For some it will never happen because they can not see the power of faith in God, or the need for faith in God. The need for love. We live in a world where people want only what they can get and not what they can give. Yet there is people giving and loving the world daily, even when it hurts. Christ loved us on the cross and through his death to resurrection. Most would of been angry and risen to anger and war, but Christ arose teaching his disciples and continued teaching them forty days until his ascension into heaven. Christ first commissioned his disciples to love the lambs and the sheep of his flock and the next group of people to minister to would come to Peter by vision of unclean animals being lowered in the sheet to dine one by the angels of heaven.(Acts 10). God would commission Peter himself to witness to the gentiles. The love of God Spirit teaching Peter to love all people and to teach all people.
May this Resurrection Sunday may of the love God arise in your heart We did not deserve love after crucifying Jesus, but love is what has been extended by God to us through Son and Holy Spirit when we believe by faith. May God's love transform his people and the world, to have faith in God the Father and Christ Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father, we receive your testimony of faith that you sent your Son to die on the cross for our sins and through his resurrection we would have new life. Lord forgive me of my sins and bring the hope and peace of your love through faith into my heart, so we learn to love others and teach others to love as you have loved us. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Acts 10:13-22 KJV
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
