Can Man Visit God?
4/20/2020

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Romans 10:1-21 KJV
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

Our inability to save ourselves is clear, nor do we have the power to ascend into heaven to bring Christ down, nor to descend in to the pit, to raise Christ up. Who is Paul to speak to the Jews in such a fashion to the Roman church. He was part of the Jewish priesthood in Tarsus outside of Roman. He was taught by a Roman Priest the ways of God before he got saved on his way to Damacus. His entitlement of who and how he learn gave him the right to speak up. Who are they to be calling someone ignorant of God's righteousness and saying they went about establishing their own righteousness, instead of submitting to the righteness of God but ot the righteousness of the law. Law in itself was to bring people to God, but instead it became a task master.

Righteousness by the law is washing of the hands by the law, only to still have fifthly hands by stealing, impropted touching, hitting, and not obeying the distancing laws. The hands outwardly is clean, but inwardly the hands are still guilty of sin. God does not want us cutting off our hands, he wants us to cleanse our hands from sin. Yet scripture declares to cut off the hand if it causes one to sin. The extremers of the Bible go about cutting off their hands because it is the law of God, instead of realizing the cleansing of the hands is about learning the discipline of obedience to God's law, but teaching your hands not to sin. Some smokers in time past have tried the rubber band approach to their smoking habit. Anytime they desired a cigarette they would pop the rubber band to say no to the mind and thus conditioning the mind not to desire the cigarette.

What the point the point is teaching discipline of what is correct and not self mulation of the extremenous of the law. Hands are needed for working, but some do work better without hands and arms. Some people more skilled then others. However the point is not about the law but the extremenous of the law that takes one away from the righteousness of faith. The righteous of Abraham, for Abraham did break the law of Moses, however he did not live under the law of Moses, so the law was void in Abraham's life, but faith was not.

Jews claim Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as their father, but do not accept the righteousness of faith without the law. Christians are the sons and daughters of Abraham because of faith. Arab world, had a mixture of Abraham offspring and other tribes that came before and after Abraham's life time. Yet Paul taught there is no different between Jew, and Greek. Christ never showed there was a difference in faith by any group of people, nor did Old Testament law teach this either.

What is the point people of all nations need to know that righteousness of faith come through faith in God and Christ Jesus, the word of God that came in the flesh, died and rose again. To beleive is to have faith in God continual plan of salvation for mankind even before Abraham. Can man ascend into heaven, man tried and the tower of Babel was built and languages of the earth was confused to such a degree man could not finish the tower of Babel. Now astronauts go into space and still can not reach heaven and neither can our satelittes that go into other solar systems/galaxies. God is coming down to live with many one day, but not by the power of man. Man can not make God and Christ ascend.

The point being our understanding of faith, needs to be beyond our understanding of the law for we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. How lovely are the feet that spread good news. How lovely are those that spread the Gospel. We all are called but not all go and share the Gospel message.

Dear Heavenly Father, teach us about your love and grace that comes through faith in Christ Jesus and you. May we know faith is important and discipline is secondary to faith, but important. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

30 If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;
31 Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.
