Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJudges 4:1-9 KJV
1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.
2 And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
3 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.Deborah did not win the war only prophesied a woman would win it. Barak could not of felt so big when judge gave him word he would not win the battle but a woman would. It was the consequences of his own fear not to be lead by God but chosing a woman of faith to go with him into battle. God would get the victory and glory for the defeat of the enemy.
When God calls us to pray or to take action we are not to put or place someone else in charge of it. If God called us to battle our battle cry yeah and amen, not Deborah I will go if you go with me. God called Moses but he to wanted intercessor dealing with the pharaoh and the people too. Moses fears would lead to his disobedience that cost him entrance into the promise land.
We want to do the will of God, we want to be prayer warriors, we got to be ready to rely on God ourself and obey him if you going to have the victory. Otherwise victory going to belong to another and that okay, because God was given victory and glory not man. Place for war is in victory line of our Savior. He cant win if our sin confessed to someone other then him. Our faults belong at his cross not the cross of a minister. We want victory through Jesus we need to take it to the forgiver of our sins.
Dear Heavenly Father may we recognize the intercessor you give not the intercessor that can not forgive, in Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Romans 10:9-11 KJV
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
