Vanity 9/18/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJob 7:1-3 KJV
1 Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?
2 As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work:
3 So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me. Doing fine, but cancer not a picnic. God's will is perfect. Storm of loosing hair taught me I am more sensitive to my appearance then thought. Honesty life storms reveal our darkest self center parts of us. I was given a wig that will work out fine, plus a few hats. I will survive with a few scarves to cover baldness.
Vanity or being vain over appearance seems sinful. Job also struggled with his image who he thought he was to who he really is. We all have in our nature the value or worth of ourselves whether in appearance or under our coat of skin. The way other see us verse who we truly are.
Job seen his righteousness but not his unworthiness. Most of us see our faith but not our sin nature that still controlls our very nature of who we are as children of God. Our vanity not our faith dictating who we are not as Children of God. This as believers we can catch ourselves in the vanity of mind from day dreaming what we hope will be and us controlling good vibes not understanding we will fall if we dont clean vanity of self out and rely on Christ and not on our own mindset of our perfection that clearly sin.
Let us focus on Christ and not our corrupt nature as children of God but be people of renewed minds.
Dear Heavenly Father, renew and revive us to have mindset of faith and holiness in Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Ephesians 4:17-20 KJV
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But ye have not so learned Christ; http://www.turtle30cshell.com
