Hands Tied 9/10/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJohn 18:10-11 KJV
10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?Ever had the sword already sliced and yet told to put it away for the ear has been mended. The place of we standing in hot coals is the place of knowing our anger has reach the breaking point and the only recourse is to let whatever take place happen because the ear mended. The path of God's will did not leave humanity with out anger. In fact their Christian that never hear or sees what Jesus said to Peter, instead they allow there anger to hate anyone not a Christian. They hate Jews, they muslims and they hate sinners.
Coming to terms Jesus said what am I not to drink the cup his Father gave him? Dealing with the clariety of the four Gospels that the cross was the will of the Father. The cross out of character for Elijah's whose same God allow Elijah by God's power to destroy the enemy. The option of defeat without the knowledge of victory to come. The horror of not understanding the will of God.
The soldiers ear mended and the arrest is finished. Peter humiliated at Christ correction when he felt they could take the soldiers that night. Christ victory was coming because death would not keep Jesus down in the grave.
Without the victory Christ lost to the devil. Without that resurrection the words about Christ cup leaves us without hope. Thank God he mended the ear, thank God for the victory through the cup he had to drink.
Dear Heavenly Father Thank you for Christ's cup to the victory through the resurrection from the grave. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Colossians 3:1-3 KJV
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
