Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJeremiah 1:4-9 KJV
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. Our greatest fear as speaking or even writing for the Lord can will there be words that fly off the keyboard, behind a pulpit, or where one is called to bear witness of God and his word. Young Jeremiah called to be a prophet and called to speak the words God would put in his mouth. No one needs to help a minister speak or give him or her a sermon to read, though it does happen to ministers, because a devil wants control of a church. Yet if someone is called by God they will speak the words of God as directed. Jeremiah was a child. The fact he points this fact to God tells us he thought himself to young to prophesy. Samuel was a child willing to obey not only his instructor but God. Jeremiah did not say he would not only that he was not an adult. God touched his mouth with his hands and put his words into his mouth. He anointed the mouth of Jeremiah.
God calls, God is going to anoint. Age is not issue and a welling vessel not necessary. Tomorrow we look at a prophet force to speak for the Lord. In the New Testament as Jesus instructed the discipled to not fear what they would speak but to speak by His Spirit has instructed even when going before the government. He provide the words the same hour has they would be used.
Dear Heavenly Father, fill your children with words of truth to speak, to testify who you are. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 10:19-20 KJV
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
