Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 22:7-16 KJV
7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

It nice when someone can premake plans by phones at a restuarunt or hotel. Luxury of table settings plus dinner or food bar ready to go when guest arrive. Making arrangent down to drinks and center pieces on the tables or table. Today we have phones and computers that can manage this information. Back in Jesus day you just obeyed Jesus and preparation was a snap.

Peter and John was to follow a man carrying a pitcher and enter his house. They were to ask for the guest chamber/room and when they did so they found a larged furnished room in which to make ready the passover feast. Everything always better when following Jesus instructions. The outcome always seem to go well. Ever had a teacher who when you listened and obeyed the assignment it went well. If you did not the assignment would not be completed with the correct answer. Assignments are meant to be followed. Go the wrong direction, enter the wrong city, you may find a street with same name but not the right people.

The plans for feast of unleaven bread/and Passover meal because of the crucifixion was to come. Did disciples understand what was to come, no of course not but they were to eat the passover with him before he suffered. Thursday night they eat the Passover with unleaven bread. Go to the garden and Judas would betray Jesus.

God was the designer of the timetable his Son would die for the sin of all living humans past, future and those of his day. Our instruction repent, be baptized and follow Jesus. It not where we going or what am I doing but the goal line is heaven, the journey can be long but a believer is to keep their eyes on Jesus and he take us through the race course of life.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to keep our eyes on Jesus and follow his instruction so our route is homeward bound. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
