Luke 4:31-37 KJV
31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

Fame of Jesus spread like wild fire as he began to teach and do miracles in Galilie in the area called Capernaum. He spoke with words of power and authority. Any speaker especially on our day and time has a degree of chrisma and authority because of that chrisma, but it said was his words that had the power not necessarily his physical appearance or attire. If you see a officer or soldier in uniform they are dressed with authority that speaks their position. A store clerk as their name tag and sometimes a shirt or smock. A minister often as a shirt, tie and jacket that says I belong on this stage. Yet some people in cut off jeans and a tank top seem to have a certain attraction or authority at times, with same authority as the business suit. Tone, actions and mannerism all playing a part in the authority. Yet nothing said about Jesus' attire or mannerism only that his word's that he spoke had power with authority.

How much power did those words have? Jesus then performed a miracle. He cast demons from man who demons said to leave us alone. His word power triumph over the enemies words that day as he told those demons to hold there peace and to come out of the man and they toss the man to the floor and came out of him. The power not by touch but by the word spoken was all Jesus used.

The people there wondered and praise God by what authority and power his words had to cast out unclean spirits. God's word has authority and his Son came with that same power and authority because he is and was the very word of God in the flesh and even from the begining of time.(John 1:1-14).

Does that get you excited it by that name we speak with authority of God's word and Jesus name. When God performs all we ask according to his will he is showing his authority in a believers life but it better to praise God that one's name is written in the Lamb's Book Of Life then focus on the ability through his name to perform these thongs. It not your authority, or your power to control God's authority and power.

Dear Heavenly Father Thank you for the knowledge of Jesus authority that continues through his name. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
