Praying Through 7/13/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
17 Pray without ceasing.
Romans 8:26-27 KJV
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Praying without ceasing sounds impossible but in truth in time, one will understands it comes with the power of God's Spirit for our mind's and Spirit is often like the disciples in the garden on the night Jesus would be betrayed sleeping and not being on guard. To know we have intercessor in our life as a believer that intercedes in our communication to God should help us pray more even for things we dont know we need. He search our hearts because he makes intercession for the saints.
As a believer until storm comes the words to pray through may sound like only words to repeat. Yet we have the ability to pray in all circumstances by the Spirit. Even when we can not pull over and bow in prayer for a particular need. Now to pull over we should enter the meeting house of a group of believers and be part of the prayer team. The believer in the church in Acts began to pray as a body making intercession for those facing persecution. Not an hour service time of prayer but continual praytime for the saints. Peter was imprisoned. As the church prayed continually a miracle happen as the doors of the prison was open and Peter was excorted outside.
Prayer alone works but a prayer team is praying and seeking deliverence for Peter bears much witness to more then one person.
God is wanting not only to intercede individual but also in the lives of the church to move within it with all kinds of signs, wonders and answer prayer. The church as a body called to make intercession for God's people his saints. Jesus himself did not just talk to God about himself but in John 17 he prayed for the unity of the disciples and the ones to come. Jesus prayed through as he was about to obey God's will for his life. The church prayed through as Peter unknown to them was being released.
We need to pray through either in a group or individually until the storm is over. Dont worry what to pray for trust God's Spirit to know not only how but what to pray for.
Dear Heavenly Father interceded in our times of prayer to pray for will be done and for intercession by your sweet Holy Spirit who comforts his people and speaks what we know not what to ask for. Gather your people to pray for each other aa storms seem to rule on. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Acts 12:1-11 KJV
1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.
11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
