Woe Is Me

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Job 16:1-22 KJV
1 Then Job answered and said,
2 I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.
3 Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
4 I also could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage your grief.
6 Though I speak, my grief is not asswaged: and though I forbear, what am I eased?
7 But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
8 And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is a witness against me: and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
9 He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
10 They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me.
11 God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
12 I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
13 His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.
14 He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.
15 I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.
16 My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
17 Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.
18 O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.
19 Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high.
20 My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God.
21 O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour!
22 When a few years are come, then I shall go the way whence I shall not return.

Ever had a blessed week and still feel like Job. It is in our trials of emotion God still reminds us of is love. What did Job have in this passage despite he blamed God and accused God for his situation. He had three friends, a wife and eternal resting place he longed for. He he had sack clothes to wear better then nothing. There is a point even in our worst situation there is hope.

I can not promise living for Jesus will remove you from the lions den, but I can guarantee God is willing to listen to all our complaints about life even when no one else hears our cries even when our eyes are so dry from tears already poured out. I can not promise large house or financial employment meaning human montetary means. I will tell you God is able to take you through the fire and the dungeons of one's life. Though this chapter ends with the hope of death. One can sympathize with want to blame God knowing He has the power to change things and does not always for whatever reason or purpose he has for allowing one bad times amd sorrow. We know this chapter woes and anger against God is short lived because of the last chapter in Job. God brings restoration, though he had to bring him to his knees first.

Sometimes I think our prayer for restoration should be bring me quickly to my knees if that what it will take to be restored. Then I ask is what is restoration back to where you been or better then what you had or sometimes neither.

Way God choose to bring about restitution and restoration in our darkest hours might not be what we thought it should be. God's love wants to restore us first to himself before anyone else. He desires us to be in right relation to even to the point of having his only begotten Son to die for us. Restoration will come when our anger is dissolved by his grace for each of us. We must remember we are his children. The hope he gives is eternity with him.

Dear Heavenly Father get us to our knees so you can restore seeing you with open arms ans open doors. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 1 Peter 4:12-19 KJV
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
