Jesus Prayed For The Believers
02/03/2024

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

John 17:9-12 KJV
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

As Christ prepared for his arrest and eventually death on the cross, he began to pray for is disciples and their journey of faith that he lose not one but the sin of perdition(probably Judas scholars believe it to be). Praying for them because they were not just his but His Father's too. This speaking of God the Father(Jehovah/Yahweh). Because of this they are both glorified. True humanity and spiritual side being understood. For when Jesus suffered and died he would be in tbe Spiritual only until the third day. On third day he claims his body and it becomes transformed into body uncorruptible made for heavens home.

He prayed for the believers because what laid ahead was going to be hard to endure and to watch what the world was going do to him. The world including Jews said crucify. The world didnt care who Jews wanted dead. The Jews wanted their peaceful life back. Jesus prayed for the believer. He prayed for the believers to be united as him and his Father were one.

Consider the disunity church but not the Spiritual church. As believers despite buildings we come to faith in Christ and all lead by the Holy Spirit and God's Holy Word. The Holy Spirit is who unifies us and the word who his Christ joins us by faith in him.

Dear Heavenly Father breath the unity of faith on each of your children filling and guiding their hearts in obedience and love for those that might know them. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Psalm 83:18 KJV
18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Ephesians 4:1-3 KJV
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
