Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisMark 1:40-45 KJV
40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.The one miracle touch we need but do we ask? Faith requires prayer and seeking the one we need to ask for healing. Faith requires the boldness to ask. My new word on facebook is Torment. Faith knowing there are methods that work for pain relief if one is patient, but until then one feel they are in torment.
No where does being heal require patients to wait. Yet people wait for healing. The question the man askes with leoprosy was Lord, "If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean". Lord you have the power but is it your will, then plrase do it. Faith is about allowing God to have his way. There are no scripture stories where man came asking Jesus healing that healing did not occur.
Paul prayed and he was in pain and God did not choose to heal him. Though Paul like Peter had experience the anointing of the Holy Spirit and seen God use his hands for healing of others, he experienced no relief from the torment of Satan.
Why would God allow torment from the devil on his children. No where else do we see God not delivering besides in persecution. Christ has the power to heal when we ask, the answer is yes but we are not the one in control of God's will for our life or what God wants to teach through suffering. It was the will of God for Jesus to heal the man with leprosy. It was not God's will to deliver Paul from his tormentor.
What do we learn is faith might seem unclear. In many cultures the training of boys to manhood require them to go through suffering. Hardship teaches things that not always having and using the silverspoon of one parents teach. Even the hardship that a trainer wants to inflict on a good soldier or team mate is not aleays successful.. Cold medicine if use correctly and quickly can deliver someone from miserable day at work or school, but it does not remove the ailment necessarily. It only delivers one from symptoms caused by the cold as the body fights the disease. With Jesus around only a few cases were a village or group of people did not receive healing because of a lack of faith. Paul had faith, but God was teaching something to him that was greater then the torment he was experiencing and it had to do with his grace being sufficient for him because in his weakness God power could be used to see the power of God being not only in control but manifesting itself in and through Paul's weakness.
Strength to endure can be part of training course for physical power but this is opposite of God's training course of allowing our weakness not only to be seeable but the power of God manifesting in our weakness to enable us the endurance we need. For without God strength, his aid we would not learn to trust in God's power but to know it not our power that we endure.
Jesus power for healing is there unless God is trying to teach us something else that is greater then immediate healing. Why because trusting in God's ability in many situation that is out of our controll is important part of a healthy prayer life, learning to walk by faith and learning to wait on God.
Dear Heavenly Father our faith is made strong in you in our weakness because your strength is what carries us through. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
