Abounding In Love 8/17/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisNumbers 15:32-36 KJV
32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.
33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.
34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.
36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses. On Numbers 15 it speaks of law of sacrifice for sin even of a stranger. In this portion I even when teaching have condemn the stoning because of man being a stranger. I also try to say it was about power and control of people he was stoned for breaking the sabbath day law. Moses then justified the stoning. Yet we all fail with this passage, no doubt law of sacrifice should been offered. Yet what does occur is the people asked Moses who in turned ask God. No one had died over the law yet, until God told Moses to stone him. God knew all about this man and judge him by having killed without repentance.
Man lived by law and bound by the law but sacrifice for most sin was receivable. This one instant God judgment came on a man within the camp that was not of the camp.
Jesus was of Israel and would die to man's laws that did not belong to Israel. Meaning what? His judgment of death justified by who. We see condemnation on a world that knows not God's laws as far as we know.
A religious woman refusing to allow her children to belong to activities that did not allow them to attend church service somewhere because activities were on those same days. The other day watching yes to the dress video online they helped two woman find bridal gowns to the marriage of one man. It was explain that both woman had different relationship with the groom. Well the story got interesting because the one woman was disabled. She was not on the marriage for a sexual relationship but to have a relationship of people watching over her because of the disability. These people cared enough for this woman to aid her through out her life and partner with her. Now whether it was just ceremony or something her state had incorporated for marriage dont know. It was the first one I seen. Yet it broke traditional married laws.
There is a point there many things that divide traditions and social acceptible practices as well as religious practice. If nothing bends your faith something like social customs might. Christ's death followed the teaching of religious custom of when he could be crucified or did it fall that way? Was his crucifixion decision hurried along because he was condemned first by religious council and then people but not condemn by Pilate or Herod, though if the problem been studied he been condemn by all groups of people. Yet soldiers were order to kill him making it a governmental order.
God said kill the man gathering sticks on the sabbath. The man Barabbas was guilty of crime released, The one government should fear because of his kingship feared not but fear religious decision makers.
We think religion and social laws do not still controll think again. Social laws for those that wish to honor faith seldom make acceptions especially for workers. If religious people separate and only work in businesses that honor faith it cause a problem for people with different faiths that may work for them that have children in social groups that do not follow religious difference.
Now there then becomes feuds over traditions that segregate. Either with individuals giving acceptions or not allowing segregation from working as it should.
What it all boils down to people chase after God and his rules or they bend to allow social groups to win. It leaves each group deciding what best for them or asking Jesus what would he do.
Jesus did not seem to eat corn his disciples picked on the Sabbath but he did heal. He socialized with gentiles but obey religious law. He ate by religious customs yet his disciples did not always wash their hands. Honoring his Father was important to him but denying his mother and family he had no problem.
Jesus was part of a brotherhood that said he die for one another Barabbas father was not willing to alliw his don to suffer but God was. Christ died for the ungodly, because of verdict but he really died to keep the Jewish faith alive? Yet he died for the world to separate customs from religion which is sin because it honors not God or his laws. Making the laws not effect but the grace of God abounding to all that would believe on him.
Dear Heavenly Father may faith abound because of your love for man through your son, in Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Romans 5:1-21 KJV
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
