Begining Of Wisdom 4/03/2024
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisPsalm 111:1-10 KJV
1 Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.Heritage of the heathen be given to the believer by seeing his mighty power by works through earth. This is paraphasing verse 11 of Psalms 111. There is begining of wisdom when one fears the Lord verse 10. The comfort of God by his Spirit says destruction of God is not for believers that obey him. The peace of God is far different then the experience of fear of God. On Waltons the grandmother said more then once someone needs to put the fear of God in them children. Yet man can only put the fear of man in someone. Yet man will try and scare people to the point they will submit or find a way to hide. How can God set a fear on man that is not by the ways of man. It more of man imitates God in scare tactics. We see the beauty of God's creation but the storm in it full fury either wakes up to knowledge of fear because of what God can impower nature to do or you see a cleansing process of the world and man just happens to get in the way.
We can not forget God so loved the world when we read Old Testament scriptures. Did God love man before John 3:16. How many warnings of destruction does God have to give before destruction comes. He gave seven to Pharoah and in Revelations 7 trumpets and seven bowls that his angels sounded and pours out. Yet warnings itself at the time of Pharaoh was not enough to heed the wrath of God. And so God harden the heart of Pharaoh just like in the New Testament he allowed Satan to enter Judas to betray his own Son. The wrath of God is something to fear and is the beginning of wisdom. We want faith for protection but do we fear God and His Son enough to obey his commandments.
God allows the believer to see his wrath like Lot (Abraham's nephew) seen after reaching his destination and it put the fear of God in Lot he went to the orignal destination. Abraham feared God and when God spoke about his wrath coming to Sodom and Gomorrah he asked God about the righteous of those cities. Jonah preach judgment of God on Nineveh and seen repentance. Is the warning of God enough. In reality we see we perceive and life goes on. For many the impeding doom is not enough to bring people to their knees because they want to experience the love of God and do not care what awaits the unbeliever. They want sweet fellowship of brothers and sisters' in the Lord, but talk about rescue the perishing and they say they want no part of that. Then you got groups that talk about evangelism and only want certain types of people to work with or talk too.
Our fear of God should first take us to our own knees and drive us toward those in need of spiritual revival or awakening. God uses his wrath in the world to remind the save what could of been their fate.
God uses his word to warn thosecthat listen the consequenves of disobedience before destuction his sent. As one grows older we become numb to hardship either take it like a duck and keep swimming or find ourselves in a fight for our life and come out swing with the sword of God's Spirit the word of God. If we going to soldiers of God ou4 fear should not be in the enemy but the one that gives you your orders of when to fight and when to rest. The one that will tell you the final battle won and the victory was always his. Our reverence of God knowing he cates for sheep and prepares feast in front of our enemies.
Where is your fear the Lord God almighty that says he was before the world began and his word stands between you and him. Everyone deserves his final wrath but he gave a gold ticket to all that would believe. That gold ticket is faith in Christ Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father show us what is to come and why our hope rest in that gold ticket of faith called Jesus. Put fear and hunger to share your love with the world who need Jesus too. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study:
1 Corinthians 1:17-31 KJV
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
