Not Willing To Wait 9/20/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisExodus 25:1-2 KJV
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.
To wait on God knowing God maybe making preparations else where for our journey. Moses was on the mountain receiving detail instructions on not only commandments and judgments but how to build the ark, tabernacle and preparations for sacrefices and so forth. When we give to God even our heart, we need to be willing to wait for his plan. We need to be in a mindset to pray for instruction. Now the verses above is next chapter aa Mose is called up on the mountain and while God talks to Moses with instructions on worship and so forth, 30 days pass from Exodus 25-32. I give the beginning instruction on the preparation of the worship service. The tabernacle was to be built and the priesthood was to be annoint and the Ark of the covenant built.
It is easy to be weary of instructions but Moses was taking his time with God that he didnt know it was causing problems for his brethern. Continual Scriptire Study, Aaron does not call a time of mourning for Moses but follows the instructions of those unwilling to wait, nor had their fear of God been great enough for them to be willing to wait. Instead of asking Aaron to call on God, they ask Aaron to break the first of commandments with God by making an idol for them.
Israelites refused to wait on God. Which is a sign of not only our weakness of faith but their ability to trust in God. Where is our ability to wait. This month my husband found what I call money from heaven twice. No clue where it came from. God's provision is mystery. We are okay but the little extra was a plus. No way of knowing who dropped it. The other day I was at my eye exam and really thought my eyes might be better. I found myself praising God before doctor came in. I had been able to read the eye chart which probably normal for demaculent degeneration, but I forgot my vision narrowing probably allows me to see better. With eyes dialated Everything in the dark was a blur. Anything with light behind it was visible clearly. Then doctor said no change in test results he did, it meant the disease was not progressing. The disease had slowed down or stopped getting worse. It wasnt better. Did not change the praise in my heart. See I believe God is my healer, but also know waiting for his healing in our weakest hours is half our battle as believers. What we learn in the Old Testament doesn't change our faith because of his delay in response.
If we learn anything about the journey of faith is the waiting and understanding that what we are really waiting for is God to move in our life. If he does not do it should we be upset by his decisions in our life. Ask me in six months and in a year where I am at in faith if God does not do a miracle. It didn't change with chronic pain or disease, I doubt it will change. Healing may not be on this side of eternity can I wait. God knows how long I can wait. Blind man in scripture was born blind and after fifty years received his sight and he had faith, but he knew not Jesus but Jesus went and then found him and told him who he was. His wait with the knowledge of his healer because of scripture in Psalms 103 came to his reality, because he was able to finally see.
Faith for some of Israel was fast fly by night faith. Here today gone tomorrow. It like a fly by nite churches. Faith in the intercessor/preacher/prophet to intercede on one behalf was not enough of a grounding even with God testifying for himself. It like many that receive Christ only to start running away when things are not there way. Instead giving to God in faith, we build new idol of not trusting God, who has put the person already through the fire of faith. In reality faith is fixing to be tested as those that knelt to the idol found the sword of there brethern.
You got seven chapters to read to get to the story of the idol. God was preparing Moses for worship of him. That preparation is often studied because of details of the ark of the covenant and the Tabernacle design as a separate curiculum. There two sides of the wait. We can not rush the one God is instructing to teach his people nor can we try and create our own solution. God teaching patient when waiting, and teaching he is preparing people to learn to wait for his timing. Exodus 25-32. Blind man story found in John 9. King Saul did not wait either on God's prophet either. What was price?
Dear Heavenly Father teach us to wait on your timing. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Exodus 32:1 KJV
1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. http://www.turtle30cshell.com
