Draw Him Out 9/08/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisExodus 2:1-10 KJV
1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.
9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.
10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.
Moses being one of the great leaders had a normal birth, into a world that was full of a kingdom that hated him before birth. Yet his mother and father would be obedient to the law and yet made him and ark of protection that left him floating among the bulrushes hidden from sight has his sit watched near by. As the pharaoh daughter seen the little badket shaped like ark as she went into the water to bath, she ask for it to be brought to her. Inside she found the cutiest little baby she ever did see and the baby begam to cry. His sister asked her if she wanted someone to feed it and the princess said yes and she fetched her mother. For three years she got to raise her son. We got to remember there was a time women nursed longer then what is normal for today. Then mother and Father took him to the princess and she named him Moses because she drew him out of water. Only a few leaders in scripture do we know their birth story or growing up years.
Moses would be both a prophet and law interupter and giver. He be known for leading Istael through the wilderness, God spoke to him, declare seven plagues to Pharaoh, and God wpuld do miracles of grace to the complaining Israelites.
Interesting thing is the story of Moses including his birth was used from Exodus to even the books of the New Testament. The significance of the exodus out of Egypt is was declared to Abraham even before Isaac birth it would happen after 400 years of being in exile. Second record prophesy other then the flood. Important declaration when declaring the long waited Messiah. This story was a story but also a prophesy of hope. Delaration rise of a leader to take them back to the promise land.
There were many great leaders but not all with prophesy or spoke a time of hope. A time of a new period for a nation. Why was Moses told to demonstrate the power God not only through his people, but announce his impending judgement on a nation called Egypt. The drawing out of water would bring harm to the land of Pharaoh to come. The planting of the Helen of Troy right inside the castle walls. Meaning the Greeks took from God's own playbook. That why Moses could into palace when he returned to Egypt. Dear Heavenly Father remind us of the continual hope you give through the education of prophesy and leaders of ypur choosing. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: Genesis 15:12-15 KJV
12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
Acts 7:20-25 KJV
20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:
21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.
24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:
25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.
