Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Matthew 24:37-39 KJV
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

We begin our March Through the New Testament. We start with the four Gospels that the story and life of Jesus Christ. The story of Jesus first prophesied from Genesis to Malachi from being God's Word first then coming in the flesh. Then Christ also preached prophesy including his own death and resurrection to the days like Noah would be his second coming in the cloud. Though Christ does not speak the full picture of the return itself prophesy would come later by the apostles. Christ did tell there be no warning like in the days of Noah.

Believers claim signs but what does it truly mean. God is always with his people and two signs do follow the believer. God makes his reality known through signs and wonders. Do people believe it is God or are they looking for human source or intervention despite it and the fact it is an act of God.

Even with divine signs through prophesy the Jewish people do not believe Jesus was the Messiah. For every Jew that became born again Christian they knew in there heart Jesus lived.

For every miraclous healing faith increases. For every open door understood as being from God faith increases. For every impossible situation that becomes possible by God's power and grace faith is increased. The elusion of miracles and wonders because of a news story repetition based on environment and upcoming events is not a true prophesy.

Knowledge is a powerful tool. It like school teachers knowing what coming but the children know not but a teacher told one of their own children and the whole school heard it before it happen unknown to the teachers. Yeah right, I sure some teacher heard that news through kids and knew a teacher slipped up and told the wrong child. There goes the surprise that is not a miracle because it happened every so many years ago.

You are not the producer of a miracle. However if I take a pot and put it over an open fire with water and a stone what will happened. If every neighbor add vegetable or meat it soon fed and army of neighbors with little food. Not a miracle but act of love and compassion which might be a miracle if neighbors do not usually get along. Act of love because every neighbor seen the value of the one pot and team work.

Miracles before the cross was to bring the people to the point they would exalt their king. The miracle being divine of five loaves and two fishes. They seen it multiply. The story of manna made them to desire to crown Jesus King. The birth story not enough to declare him king, nor the words at the baptism or even the miracles of healing. The blindness of the people was real. Christ's call to be king ended with the money changers and Christ's being betrayed and going to a cross think again because with the resurrection for every believer that became born again, Jesus became King and Lord of their hearts.

Noah sign he built the ark because of direction God gave with a warning of a flood. People laughed even as God himself sealed the door shut. God is calling every unbeliever that hears God's love by hearing the word of God and receives act of love and kindness from the believer. Shining hope in the world this season.

Dear Heavenly Father, open the eyes of the unbeliever to see the love through your word before you seal the chapter with Christ's return. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 2 Peter 3:1-18 KJV
1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
