The Lord's Hand Saves
10/05/2023

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Judges 7:2 KJV
2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

This is really a good story If you'd like to read the whole thing starting in Judges 7. the importance of Judges 7:2 demonstrates God's power to save us and that our own hand is not necessary to save ourselves. God wants to take us to the battlefield of faith.God wants to put us in a place where we can see his power perform great things. This is one curicullum throughout scripture, especially in the Old Testament stories and in the story of the cross of Jesus.

We live in a time God's actions are seeable to the believer but most of the world never see it as a move of God because they are blind to the will and ways of God and even to who God is without a preacher or teacher. They get angry over religious people judging without understanding why.

Gideon was going to lead the biggest military game play of his day with only a small army of men against the large armforces that had strong mighty men of war. Those men were going to run away in the fashion of weaklings as long as Gideon obey God.

God's power to lead Gideon with a small army. God salvation must come in our weakness so we know God did it. God did it in the New Testamenr with one man name Jesus who saved us from death and destruction. In our weakness caused by sin, he save us from our sin by shedding of blood through the cross on the hill called Calvary. He rose again having victory over sin and death.

Jesus while on the cross dying the same death as two thieves granted salvation to one destine to a sinner's hell. Before anyone was saved they were destine to hell. Yet to all that believed in Jesus God gave through his power by his Son's cross the ability for us to be saved through eternity.

Dear Heavenly let us not forget it your power to save us and that we do not in our own power have the abilty to save ourselves through out eternity. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study:

Luke 23:39-43 KJV
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Matthew 9:6 KJV
6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
John 17:1-4 KJV
1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
