6/25/2023 Daily Devotions: by Christina Farris Romans 12:1-3 KJV
If you have ever went fishing and caught a female fish and cut her open after scaling her scales from her and found eggs you just not only killed the mother but you harvest her tiny eggs inside her, even if it was just to be tossed away. Some do eat those eggs. Is abortion in early stage any worse then that, some will say the begin of life is still life of a baby. Most people eat chicken eggs even if to bake a cake or put in a casserole, is that egg living life of a chicken at this stage. Most do not think about it, they eat or use the egg and think nothing else about it. We kill a deer, kill squirrel, or a rabbit and eat for food, do we think about that life sacrifice for our survival. If we kill a cow and eat steak do we think about it as being survival. Truth is, if we thought about the innocent of animals before we ate, many of us would never eat a piece of meat unless to preserve our human life. Every animal killed has the potential to have unborn life within them, if female. Why is human sacrifice not the same. We consider human more intelligent yet the fundamentalist are strictly against abortion and want to kill both mother and the baby together. Perhaps having to do with sin of pregnancy outside of marriage. No it called barbaric attitude of not understanding the injustice promoted by men on women, and some say will it scriptural to kill a woman caught in adultery is because it is the same sin as man committing rape. Sacrificing human life because of sin, seems to be God's way. Yet if we sacrificed everyone based on sin, no one would be left standing in the world. The last man standing would have to shoot himself, that is sin too. Laws were put in place to kill for certain laws and life were sacrificed based on if they broke those laws. Why were women targeted and not the men with the woman. Men were killed if they raped a woman. Women agreed to sexual act outside of marriage or in adultery was she in agreement with the man or was she raping a man.
The barbaric laws in scripture might in some cases seem right in the eyes of man. Religious law and America legal system do not always go together. Is it a good thing it does not. Should a woman caught in adultery face crime of adultery live and should man that rapes a women face the death penalty. Twenty five years in prison today seem harsh but does it fit the crime for those facing criminal offense without murder but equal to murder as far as time that is required to serve. Should the act of abortion be looked at as murder of the unborn or natural selection of the one carrying the child. Man has naturally selected offspring considering even deformities at birth a time to kill that child, because the ability of the child not being able to care for his/herself in life as adult. Yet how many of us have been blessed by people with disabilities. The course of natural forces causing death through a storm of no escape for disabled person seems less our human responsibility. Yet in truth it might be more our responsibility because if we could not saved the person that was disabled with technology of our world to change the situation of true survival. Why was not disable people evacuted from hurricane first instead it is everyone must escape by leaving before the storm hit and any left behind stays at their own risk of survival.
These type of sacrifices is not what Paul meant when he said present yourself as a living sacrifice holy and true. What is Christian sacrifice suppose to be about if it not about being hung out on a cross inorder to have less mouths to feed in our world. It is about Christian saying I am going to live God's way and do it God's way even when my humanity and the world around me says no to God's way. When I see the Democratic party in office I can honestly say there are things they vote for I will never agree with but I can flip the table and say on the other side there are reason I can side with you. However, the fact is a decision must be in place on these issues and sometimes there no middle ground concerning Abortion and preserving of women that aborted a baby in a healthy and safe manner. Death caused by back alley abortion is just that a potential death or inability to have a child again. Should she be punished because of her desires, or culture?
As a Christian the human sacrifice that is holy to God is our choices with our own body to live in holiness, if pregnant by rape or incest to have a child maybe the hardest thing to ask a Christian woman to do. Yet would she be sacrificing that memory after the baby was born if by putting the baby up for adoption or would she be living in post pardum depression and killing the child because she kept it or even one day taking her anger out on the child in abuse. As individuals we can not tell someone just put the child up for adoption, we can not hope the mental status of a women will enable her to care for the child properly either. Some would say that where pray changes the mental state of the woman in question, allow God to do the healing in the woman's life, but not all women are believers. Aboriton may seem like the only choice to heal, but heals not. No sacrifice in any format heals? Yet God sent his Son and allowed the world to abort him by nailing him to the cross, though he was a worker of miracles, and a storm calmer. Yet the storm came from above as he hung on the tree, with sunlight being removed, and ground did shake. He cried mercy to his Heavenly Father, because they understood not what they did to him.
Human sacrifice of faith is not sending people to their death. It is a choice to serve God and to obey his will even if it leads to death. Fallacy people claim to do many things in the name of religion, but is it the will of God? If God wants us to obey the laws of man and we do not then are we inviolation of God's agenda or man's. If we wrap our brains around these issue despite what we been taught by man, we will surely get a headache and come to conclusion some decisions deserve to be left truly in God's hands. Putting our life in God hands saying Lord your will be done leaves the question do I really have to die because of faith. The answer in America no, but in Middle East it far more likely to have to die because of your faith and faith alone. Any government in full opposition to Christianity makes Christians in trouble til we individualize the equation. Does what I do in my Christian faith effect my governmental freedoms, rights and so forth? If I going to surrender my life to Jesus and become a living sacrifice for him, it does mean that my thoughts are going to be focus on becoming more like the ways of Christ and to instruct my children in the ways of God and ways of our laws to understand if I break the law of man there is consequences if it effects others. If I steal from someone I might have to face the punishment of that crime, unless I return the item, and work out justice with the owner. Thieving being omitted to the person or company. With the company or person willing to pay for their error it still might mean jail by laws of the land or it could mean forgiveness.
What then is sacrifice to not commit sin, or try to live in the perfection by the power of Jesus. In trusting that if we fail his Spirit will correct us and any wrong will be corrected. On Abortion though I be personally pro life, I recognize not everyone will make a choice to protect human life. The choice they make might be selfish and maybe not selfish depending on the reason for it. One can protect the safety of the women that choose abortion or we can leave them in the hands of witch doctors in back alleys. As a nation they look at lives of King Solomon's wives and say why not allow it. Did God intend human life to be sacrificial, the answer is no. Though God did define evil and living by faith as two different eternities.
To sacrifice our will our brain activiity to be appealing to God we must then focus on his ability to change and mold us into right thinking. Woman faced with the need for abortion is in a crisis. A crisis of not only how to care for a child but also on the mental aspect of carrying the baby to term with medical expense when having the baby and after. Not every abortion is paid by government medical services, some people paid what they can medically or must because of financial obligation. What if the government set up programs to meet the needs of expecting parents, and even counciling for those desiring to keep or put the child up for adoption or the ability to do so without restraint of opposition from religious fanatics that would condem a women either way she went, because she was pregnant out of wedlock.
A living sacrifice, I never had to make the abortion choice, and I have no children. I have had to make spiritual choice on not to choose a road of sin, or to follow my sin nature. I am not perfect, I slip and fall sometimes daily. What if our nation began to choose to teach women not only about what they suppose to teach about women health and their bodies, but about the life of the fetus within a woman to educate so they fully understand the abortion process. Also know the rights of protecting the life within them if they wish to do so, and enable women to work no matter the job and protecting against bigotry and firing because of pregnancy because it is a human natural process and rights of a woman, especialy if it will be condemn in the work place is sueable, fineable by the law. What if a woman having to give up her family because of her choice of keeping the baby, was decided on and was also given support to enable her to do so if that is her choice. Instead of bashing women, work toward education to promote healthy human rights in people. You can lead the women to water of life but you can not make them drink of it.
Jesus told the adultress woman to go and sin no more, but the truth of the matter she would of been judged if she had been pregnant and did not scream rape. Let us not fight on issue but let us be called to educate to protect and support human life in the world around us. To not shun, a woman by her choices. Can the harlot, can the woman, can married lady, find help in her storm and find the love and peace of God in the storm. Can she finish the storm and recognize how God might see that human life that was lost. Can she find hope of what she sees as nothing more then loss of life like hunters gutting their kill to find a baby within. Having a baby is the next generation of human life. It is a special gift from God no matter the situation.
We can not change what has happened in our nation or in the history of the world but can we strive to help, to love to show compassion despite the choice a woman makes. If you can love a killer or rapist after time, then why not the woman with a baby, without the baby, because of an abortion and so forth.
Our sacrificing what we see has human life by being prolife are we sacrificing women that may not even believe in the God of our Bible or Jesus. Our job is not to sacrifice humans, but to love and to make choices for ourselves. Let us work on our own education and helping in the education of the next generation coming up on true sacrifice to live our life in submission to the will of God. Are we too holy to see our own fallacy of ourselves not seeing our sin. If God did not cover our sin through the blood of Jesus, who could truly stand before God in holiness. Even lsaiah said his lips were unclean when faced to stand in the presents of God, before his mouth was touched by a live coal to purge the sin from his lips.
Where is our mistake, it is not fighting to teach to preach to educate in all fields of life the ways of God and why God's way is best in our world. Can we be patient, can we be kind, can we smile in the face adversity, and can we be a living example for Jesus of what faith is truly about. Can people see the love of God in us. Not always because of our humanity. Our reaction to events in time. Yet our strive our goaled to sacrifice our human nature to the will of God is reasonable service to God because he offers us the gift of eternity through the gift of his Son by faith in him.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to set the example of faith, the example of how your love for man truly is and when we fail, help us to recognize your superiority in our life in our inaibility. Help us to be that living sacrifice of faith to live accroding to your word of love and hope. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
