Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Job 38:1-3 KJV
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

Job 40:1-14 KJV
1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

Our inability to control God is our failure to understand should we have that power to control God or to fight God has if he was a man. Devil thought he was God and still thinks he can overthrow God. We are created beings. Man creates robots. The fear that robots might control the universe one day is more of a real threat then the world really sees. Why because without computers the only thing man seems to be able to do on his own is go to the bathroom. One is forever using a computer timer that is a clock as well to time just food coming out or off the heat. We get up to alarm at times, I dont' use alarm everyday but many do everyday. The flecks of walking out of the house without a cellphone almost unheard of. The computer in our vehicles tell us if our vehicles will start. The grocery store has all the electric gadgets to help you check yourself out. And if in a hurry you avoid the sales clerk in hopes you be a tad faster in check out and never truly are. The doors to the stores open by computer surveillance. What else the only thing man can do is perhaps walk or roll still without machines. Yet technology in our world is grand it is also the one thing that still controlling man if we let it. Today the internet was off. Trying to figure why it was off was half the problem for my husband. I called my network. I flip the phone open to discover it messed up as well and think yep that is life and the phone fixed itself. Human invention is beginning to not only repair but now serve the human world with computers that wait on tables, so I have heard. I have not experienced that one yet. The floor can be vaccummed by computer technology without human to push it. The idea that certain things will no longer be human responsibility but be handed over to a machine to have full control seems like an issue.

What is next our ideas begin to event other ideas. Beware my friend when the computer can think sololy like human being, we will be replaced. And those that think they are in power will loose complete power. However their power source perhaps should never be known to them as it is to us, for if they know what a battery is then they can make one. Or even a solar panel. Or the knowledge of the recharging station. Fortunately sleep is still controlled by our ability to relax to the state of sleep, If we can control our thoughts to get to sleep, when our bodies are not to worn out to sleep we will rest at the minimum to recharge for the next waking period. When our body is worn it gives up its ghost to rest either in the presents of God or to be in the presents of hell.

God created man, but he did not create man to rule him, he only allowed his right hand to rule him. His right hand being his word and his Son, his only(one) begotten Son. Job is being questioned by God of who he thinks he himself is. Can he do the things God can do. We got to realize Job in truth is a man of faith and intrigrity but what he going through is a test that defies logic, no defies the human mind. His reaction is such that he is thinking he wants to talk to God by his own merit, his own ability, though he can not. He wants to challenge God. Can we challenge God, can we do the things God can do. If we take our most painful experience in our life and desire to change it can we. The most humiliating experience can we change it. We might be able to right wrongs but we might never be able to fix some things. God can only heal and only deliver man from situations in his or her life. Computers have no compassion and can not do these things. Money may allow you forget for a time your sorrow but it will not repair the inner soul.

Job is desiring to talk to God as his equal but not really. He has respect for God but he wants to know what is going on. God begins to question Job of who he thinks he is that he can come as his equal to question him. It not wrong to ask God questions. It not wrong to express the anger that God can see in your heart with words. However it wrong to think you can come to God as equal to state your case or to judge God on any matter? Moses question God desire to kill Israel tell he came off the mountain and kills those that bowed to calf, and God would hid his face from Israel.

Can we back talk God? If God is in control has man declares and God says, then who are we to judge what God is doing? We want best for our children and love ones. If we try and protect love ones, we may or may not fail. In fact we might cause more harm then good. God see our attempts of control and sees our attempts at power. Job would make sacrifices for his children, but he could not make his children stop sinning or bring them to repentance of their sin. In fact until they died, he had been performing the sacrifices for sin for them to try and protect them and they died.

Is there a point, perhaps what we need to recognize is do we first have a right to control another, control another thought or decisions about anything. Then do we have the right to try God's mind. Who has the mind of God? If our minds are carnal/self centered/ of the flesh, we can not be intuned with God's Spirit and his will. As a child I played with some toys way past the age they were attended to be played with. Why because they were my favorites even past age appropiate. Yet my parents got rid of them, why to move on to the next stage in my life. To bring about change. God gets rid of the things in our life to make room for change. If we loose a love one change is going to happen. We must make room for that change though the old being gone the old is still in our hearts. We angry and resentful that God removed this person, maybe.

Job was going through a test that did not change his relationship with God though God wanted to change the relationship to equality, he had to come to grips he could not face God has an equal. Though Job had wanted also intercessor at one point, and asked for it, God's word was already his intercessor. Though God would bring his Son into the world to save man, to show man who he was, His Son came only in the flesh with power from above. Job had knowledge of the word of God he needed nothing else. Yet Job need to question God's counsel in life of removing the old and allowing things around him to change. God's warning to Job came with the allowing the devil to test him of his own wrath to come without faith in him to redeem him.

God was going to speak to Job about his greatness so Job would understand this situation was not for him to control or for him to change but to allow God to comfort him through it, by reminding him how Great the Lord really is. Does God's greatest in the storm really make us grasp its in his hands, or do we try and wrestle God on our terms. If we going to fight God we must do with his word and his will for our life. Note his will and his word. His word his intercessor to man. Our protection if we follow his word. It doesn't mean bad things won't come, or that the devil won't try and knock you off your feet, it means God's word will protect you in all areas of your life if you will trust in him and follow him recognizing who he is. God truly is a loving Father, but when allows things to be taken away it is to one day restore and to rebuild us. It something that God must do in our life. Our prayer needs to be our mindset will be in the will of God even when then enemy removes things we treasure from us. Corrie Ten Boom went into the concentration camps of WWII only to find herself there by her disobedience to the laws of the land. Things of her country removed from her to live in rat and lice infested imprisonment. With the lice came hope because they were not suppose to have a Bible smuggled into the camp, but it was by God's power. In that building they would read God's word to the prisoners they were with. And some would get saved. There hope changed as lives changed, they seen that lice infest building as a refuge to keep the guards out. The lice infest place as a way to share the most precious thing in their heart with Jews that were going to die in those camps. Corrie would walk free, loosing her sister in the camp due to illness. In fact she that freedom came she left the Bible to help others find there way.

God allowing us in situations of partially our making does not mean it can not be used for him. We might want to tell God off, we might be angry about our situation, but God wants us to trust in him and his power to change our lives. God does change us in our storms and in our situations to be better believers for him if we will let him. The hope to pass on what most treasured to others is a blessing not a punishment.

Dear Heavenly Father, change our hearts to help us not to always feel the need to be in control but gives us that compassion to submit to your will for our life and allow you to lead us on. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Romans 8:7 KJV
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Romans 8:18 KJV
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
