The Vail Divided
7/25/2023

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Exodus 26:33 KJV
33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

Leviticus 16:1-12 KJV
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD, and died;
2 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.
3 Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.
4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.
5 And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
6 And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house.
7 And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
11 And Aaron shall bring the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is for himself:
12 And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:

In Old Testament man is divided by God because of his Holiness. His Holiness still is important in the New Testament but before man in general was not allow in behind the vail. Aaron a Priest lost to sons when they sin when administrating the sin offering the seriousness of the sacrifice done outside the vail and priest that perform the sacrifice would bring the coal into the Holies of Holies. I don't think Aaron's son Got that far as being behind the vail, before they were killed by God(Study chapter 10 and 16 of Leviticus for more information). There many mysterious in Old Testament we read even down to the purification before coming before God in the Holies of Holies. The need for the vail, the place God's Holiness resided was behind the vail. We can exam how everything was put together, and how it was built but when it gets to the sin sacrifice outside the vail and Priest purification and sacrifice for sin that occured before he could take the coal and place within the vail on the mercy seat. All this speaks of the purity of the sacrifice of the goat and bull made as far as cleansing the Priest and Israel from sin. If you did not perform the sacrifice right you were dead. It was not chemical reaction that caused death, but it was the power of God that killed the Priest to make them an example of not only unholiness before God but the need to reverence his laws concerning the mercy seat and the vail. God being behind the vail. God appearing as a cloud on the mercy seat and coal that cleanse that sacrifice now purified to put behind the vail.

In Isaiah we see Isaiah the Prophet in the temple before the curtain of the Holies of Holies, and the curtain moved and revealed God. God was behind the vail with Serphims(angels of God) with six wings that covered their body in the presence of God and man.. Isaiah cries out about his own unholiness because he seen the Lord, as he is before the throne of God and angel touches his lips with a coal to purge his sin. The holiness of being before the vail, yet seeing God . When Christ walk the earth we need no vail between us, beyond his flesh. The word of God always coming between us and his Holiness. We always been divided from the Holiness of God since the time of sin against God because of the worship of the calf. No one had been able to go before God because of it, yet God had served the elders at his banquet table in heaven before that time. Now there was a vail between God, the Prophets and Priest, but also the people who could not enter in even with sacrifice because of their unholiness and not having gone through the sanctification and purging of both the physical and spiritual body that was necessary for the Priest to be abel to enter into where God resided in the Tabernacle in the wildernessa and the Temple.

Making a confession, if I rely only on what I been taught over the years and not take time to study scripture there is falseness with that rope memory. I always thought it was a vision Isaiah had and not real experience for some reason. We can examine and reexam scripture and learn something new everytime. If we rely on God's Spirit, God's word will always be the finally authority concerning what his word says to man.

The vail at the time of the cross was ripped in half in the Temple, taking away the division between God and man. What had divide man was the worship of idols, what saved man was the sacrifice for sin. Eve adhere to the serpents voice and deceived Adam to eating the forbidden fruit, because of this was throne out of paradise. Veil begining with the separation from heaven, the blood sacrifice for sin when began to live on earth. Blood being the atonement of sin. Christ flesh being the the covering between us and God while he walked the earth. Upon Christ death and resurrection his blood became the atoning work in our life as believers. That covering need between the altar of grace and the Holies of Holies. Christ being the High Priest of the New Covenant and made the atonement once and for all for mankind sin through his cross to the glory and will of the Father full of grace and truth. His Holiness still intact without Christ covering our sin, we would not be able to stand in God's presence.

Man divides himself from God through disobedience and under the old covenant the high priest had to perform not only the yearly sacrifice, but man had to make sacrifice as well for sin. The need for man made veil no longer need, but the veil being the blood poured out before and on the cross for our sin. Let us walk in blood covering veil, to come in the presences of the Holy God where we once could not stand but can stand because of Christ our Savior and his atonement for our sin.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for the cleansing blood and sacrifice of your Son name Jesus who took away the sins of the world through the cross to anyone that would believe, in Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Isaiah 6:1-8 KJV
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Psalm 97:1-12 KJV
1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.
9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.
10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Hebrews 6:17-20 KJV
17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 10:16-23 KJV
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
