The Beginning Of Fame 1/18/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisMark 1:29-38 KJV
29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.
31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.
33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.
34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.
35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.
37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.
38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.
Fame of Jesus spread because of a demonaic man that was healed in the previous story in Mark one that I did not posted today, instead going into the story of Simon(Peter) and Andrew with jame and John took Jesus to their home. An someone name anon told Simon, his mother in law laid sick with fever. As we all know no one laid sick with fever with Jesus was around. Jesus took her by the hand, lifted her up, the fever left her and she waited on them. The power to healing was flowing through Jesus. When evening came a crowd of sick people were at the door to be healed by Jesus with all sorts of disease, he healed many and cast out devils. The next morning Jesus departed to a solitary place and prayed. Our need to pray is greater then Christ need to pray, but he took time to talk to his Heavenly Father. That need to pray was his humanity, was because of his position in the flesh would of required it as example to all of us that we need to pray before ministering and after ministering to others. Jesus being fully human but God still was setting the example for us. His need to commune with his Father, we must remember as believers the Holy Spirit makes intercession to God the Father, even when we can not pray. The prayer hotline of faith is always open. If we are in direct will of God then the doors of faith are open to us. The door of the cross was open door for Jesus but it had a purpose.
Jesus did not make it hard for Simon and the others to follow him, for they sought him out and said all men seek thee, but he departs and goes to another town and preaches there also. He did not remain in one place but continued because of the crowd that was following him. Wherever he went a crowd would follow because of the miracles. No time since as miracles been in such abundance at one time. I not saying miracles do not happen to day or through out the centuries sense Christ. I saying that the miracle work of Jesus was a unique time period in the history of the world as we know it and understand it. I not saying people are not healed today, because I am a three time miracle and hope to be a miracle by God touch even today. If we want to see miracles we must pray, if we want to see miracles byt he power of Jesus we must not only pray but fast as Jesus taught his disciples in other passages of scripture. Jesus took time to pray before and after he did miracles. That connection of prayer keeps us focus on the healer, the deliver and the Savior of the world. One that prayers for another is a minister of faith, in regard of doing what is required for another believer or even none believer to be healed. All healing comes from God. Doctors may understand how the body works and how it even heals itself, but can not explain when a miracle of God happens before their eyes. That beauty and nature of God's miracle work and not the everyday healing and care a doctor often gives along with their nursing staff. Yes there were doctors in Jesus day, but very primitive science compared to today. The miracles seen where also healings that no doctor could cure.
Dear Heavenly Father we know the miracles still today help in the spread of your word and the power of Jesus to save our soul. Help the believer to have the faith to pray for the miracle, for the healing and the things need in the life of the church and also the unbeliever. In Jesus precious name, Amen. 19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
