Jesus Is The Door 2/25/2023
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisJohn 10:1-21 KJV
1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
Jesus called his people sheep and called himself the shepherd of the Sheep even equalizing himself to God here. We must remember through out Christ ministry he went to the temple and taught. He went right in the door and up on stage or down front and spoke to the people. He went in and even taught in the courts of the Gentiles. Any priest could be consider a door, what makes Christ door unique would be, he is the only way in which one can be saved. I writen on how John the Baptist and Christ ministry was similiar, but never spoken how they are different, or how the Jewish temple is different. John and the Priesthood were suppose to point to the word of God and not to themselves, or to glorify themselves. Why does Jesus glorify himself as the Great Shepherd. We must go back to John 1 and realize that God word came in the flesh and that Jesus is and was the word of God(past, present and future). The terminatoloy riddle with information but hidden from plain sight of the blind to who Christ is. Every believer is a wolf and protector of God's word, but has to be potential of a wolf that comes through windows to steal the sheep. Why because in the process of leading people want that popularity, want the people to see what they are doing and yet at the same time the must learn to go humble to the throne of God desiring him to move in their life to lead people to him, but often leading people astray not meaning too or sometimes on purpose for other reasons.
John and Priesthood enter through the door by the word of God, but they alone could not convince people to receive the word of God. God's Spirit had to move in the life of the person for them to receive the truth of the word of God. Even the discipls of John the Baptist struggled at who Jesus was. The Priesthood in the temple surely did not know and yet He was prophesied of his coming and shared with the priesthood of his coming, through Mary's line. Zacharias a priest, the husband of Elizabeth and cousin of Mary. John and the Priesthood carried the word the door to God, but was not the door. Jesus was the real door to eternal life, the real door to lead people in faith to God. Those that use God's word only for money, for greed, for popularity, for control and so forth is in error, they are the real thiefs/worlves that destroy the flock. They care nothing for the flock. We have a protector wolf and vivious wolf. Both those wolves if and is worshipped will lead a person straight to hell and not the doorway of God's word the only Begotten Son of God.
Christ is the gate all most go through to enter into the fold of God's kingdom of eternal hope and rest. Some want to say Mohammed is their savior, Buddah, or Ghandi and so forth as well. None of these are the doorway to God. Some would consider these powerful men even good teachers, but they are not the only begotten Son of God or authority of the actual word of God. No human but Christ has that claim. Without faith in Jesus, without faith in God's word we fail to enter into the sheepfold. Christ came as a living light of his word, through miracles and wonder of faith. Demonstration of the power of God's word but he being actual the authority of God's word.
Moses in his power seem to have the authority of God, but we forget quickly he had to go to God to know what to do everytime a miracle or event occured, even the judgment that were brought forth by God's power in the life of Israel. What made Christ different is he had no need to ask permission to heal those that came to him, instead he just said the word and it was done. God's power is not ours to control. God's power must be requested to heal the sick, the lame, the blind and the sinner. We must teach the sinner to prayer to God, or to help them learn to communicate to God on their own. Taking all kinds of request to God as we, ourselves must also do. Ministers are not God they are people that listen to God probably better then others most of the time. They called for a purpose to open the gate so people can see Jesus more clearly. Jesus is to be lifted up and exalted above all other names, and every knee should bow to Jesus. The anti Christ sees Jesus as only teacher if that. They do not see Him as the gate or the word to which Jesus calls the world too.
The flock needs humble ministers, that know their place in the sheep fold as teachers of the lost and the director to the shepherd Jesus who leads the flock into the sheep of the sheepfold. Ministers that say look at me, better beware, or say follow me better beware. Those on the outside looking into the sheep fold, need someone like Jesus to teach them the right way to enter into the fold through and by his word. His word being the road map of instruction to him and to heaven. Your minister is not your judge, God is your judge, and convictor of your heart. God uses ministers to teach his people like the Prophet Nathan went to King David and spoke all God told him to speak.
Only God's word can open the eyes of the blind, only open the door to those needing sight. The believer is only to speak the truth of God's word and be prayer warrior to those in need of Christ and the need of healing. Jesus is the only door, gate and very word of God for the people. Let us not forget his power before his coming, after his coming and after his death and resurrection and into even today's generation. God has power to change the life of his people by his word, let us pray and let us speak the truth of His word has he speaks to our heart. God's minister can only lead you to the gate not through the gate of eternal life. Jesus must lead you down the path of faith. They can help, but they can not walk your walk with God for you.
Dear Heavenly Father, God's word is light unto our feed and light unto path. Let us hold to the truth of your word that through Christ all men can be saved, if they will turn from sin and follow after him with a repented heart. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Matthew 7:13-15 KJV
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
