Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 18:1-8 KJV
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

The worse abuse in our land is when our government is the abuser or the government refused to fix the abuse and continue the abuse of a person who exercises their religious freedom and protects the rights of others to do likewise in their nation even when they disagree. Meaning as long as they are not hurting others their right is being protected. I one of these people that say you don't like what the Bible says do not read it, but remember it precious to someone else. It is the oldest document literature of the ancient world. It still applies today to mankind. It tells of God walking with man but not always dwelling side by side with man. God making his presence known but not allowing man to reach him by their own merit, but by his. A God that hears his people cries an he answers even through revenge or satisfying the need of the person that is crying out to him. Our nation hears no cries but what they want to hear. In others words the idea of let me hear all the good but they never hear the evil and then they wonder how did these bad things happen. For every serial killer, and shooter out there how far did their anger grow before they took action the world will never know. However we know the last button pushed in that person life caused a massive shooting, destruction of the worse kind before it lead to many of their own death. They did not just take themselves but they took those that were in before them or in the place of distrust for them. What had happened in their life? We do not know. We do not know why someone becomes evil often times.

We all face our breaking point in life at some moment but it how we react often demostrates the type of person we are, one of destruction or one peace and love of Christ. The king in this story wonder about God's own elect who cried day and night like this widow had to him to avenge her adversaries. She cried to the king because the people of that city were tormenting her day and night. Do we want God's wrath on a people, in reality no. The wrath of God is often revengeful to the point of even death for eternity in hell. One would rather see the law take care of some issues if trouble can be stop by man. A believer knows that unless man repents their is no hope for a person that does evil soul. Did the woman seek human just because these men knew not God or his wrath, or did she seek know God's wrath would come to these men in time anyway.

When man refuses to obey the law they are just as guilty as a ruler that does not enforce the law of abusing that woman. Yet what if a righteous(by and through faith) person prayed to God for revenge and not for change in that person life to stop the revenge. Is God is not acting on revenge are we to wait through the abuse, or is the woman to take legal action by the law of the land if able. This abuse of this woman lead to her fearing for her life, not sure whether one day the men of her village would go further then they should and cause her physical harm, so she went to the law for protection. It took awhile she had to keep repeating her problem to the king before he finally got it and did something. What if she had prayed for God to revenge her enemies. Elisha cursed his attackers in the name of the Lord and two bears came out of the woods and killed 42 children that mocked him. Did the king in this story know of this, I do not know but I know he was seeking why did this God not revenge for this woman of faith maybe? Was the woman a believer I suspect she was. To know of God ability to cause revenge on those that abuse his people, and has the ability to help those being beaten, and even be killed, to help them carry their cross, because they know God will revenge his people even now and through eternity. People of faith are to be like Christ and to bear their cross, or are they to go to the law like this woman did?

If someone going to set rules all must abide by those rules. Rules can be changed if proven unaccurated for the needs of the people. Is God's revenge worse then the rules of the land? No, but what it allows it time for man to say what I do is wrong after disobeying a law or declaring it unlawful or lawful. Knowing it existence is for a reason and they will face the punishment of the crime of the land despite it being injust at times. You live in the nation you agree with or you move to another nation if possible. You believe with Islamic law then move to islam and that way do not bring your laws here to corrupt our laws. Do not bring your religion here to change our laws.

Hyprocrisy of saying no one was to wear mask because of faith and then having to wear mask for health reason seems ludricous. Yet it happened. Yet no one was afraid to uncover to talk to someone if asked or needed too, because of communication or the need to see the face of someone during the pandemic. Religious mask are often never taken off unless in their home dwelling and that was the problem people had.

This woman is being tortured by these men and no one would defend her and finally the king did. The question remain why did God not revenge, is it because of the laws of our land, he knew these men would one day get saved, or the woman sought not revenge beyond the law. Go back to 42 children killed by two bears and ask yourself none escaped to tell the village, but it apparently was witnessed by the village or someone in the village. Did God win in that village that day? I think not, but they knew Elisha served a God that heard him cry out to him.

When you know what done by God in the past, you fear not what Christ can and will do in the presents for his people if they ask. Jesus also asked us to bear our cross by the law. If he ask us all to do that, then we can expect the world to abide by the law as well. You can expect your leaders to obey the law but if they do not it can be a form of terrorism in our nation by our own government. Those falsely accused locked in jail faced not only criminal acts from the society that jailed them, they faced abuse. Foreign words I suspect so. If government is not the participant of crimanl ats and they jail the criminal then they are doing their duty and should be held and esteemed for doing their duty. People of faith really should be have their hat taken off their heads for not asking God to revenge their enemies because of their sin against them. Elisha a saint of God reach his breaking point when he cursed children.

Dear Heavenly Father, God's people never forget the power of God lives in your heart to teach you to love and to bear your cross, but even we have our breaking point. Ask God to keep his people bearing their cross for the sake of man that fails to believe that sin causes eternal death. Help those that persecute see the need of our Savior. Move in the hearts of your children to continue to bear their cross and follow you in love without cursing the children of the world. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: 2 Kings 2:23-24 KJV
23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
