What Would You Do If God Asked You? Lesson 16
8/16/2023

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Mark 12:1-12 KJV
1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

If I could take one verse only out of this page and speak only on those words whether I spoke on what contained in the passage of scripture I chosen or not, it would be verse 11 where it says, "This was the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our eyes?" All things Lord does is marvelous, but God destroying those that were once consider his people, are no longer his people makes no sense in our world. Jewish people always were consider the chosen people of God. His choosing and not their choosing necessarily. Perhaps there is a greater lesson learn that those that he choses he comes in search of them always and longs for them to see the works of his doing as being marvelous. He leaves people in charge of his people he chosen, much like a farmer raising a crop for a land owner becoming jealous of the one that had plots to take control of it, even though he was paid for his service, yet he seen the bounty of raising the crops and decided to keep it for himself instead of giving the profit to the owner. When the owner sent a servant to check on his investments, they would be killed. It continued on until finally the owner said if I send my son he will not kill him. The farmer killed the son. The land owner had no choice but to kill the farmer who was in care of his garden. The question of the day is have you not read this scripture: The stone which the builders reject is become the head of the corner. This was the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our eyes?

I speaking more plain then Christ did in a since, Jesus speaks of God's vineyard as being crop growing like people. The vegetation is the vineyard growing and the husband is both the religious leaders and the legal law. We have yet come into Christ kingdom where he rules on his throne in the new heaven and new earth. His first trip to earth was to destroy the control of the religious leaders and the power of the rulers, his second journey will be to take his people to a new kingdom to come and to rule there.

God made Christ Lord of the covenant. God's only Son is the chief cornerstone of the new covenant and chief cornerstone of the old covenant as the word of God not in the flesh. In the first covenant his word was not seen, but spoken and written down. His word had not become tangible in regards to being idolized as a person personified. The only idol ever need was Christ the word of God in the flesh. Christ has always will be and always was the cornerstone regarding his word being the foundation of faith. Abraham faith and Moses Law became idols to the people in regard who they followed. They used Abraham and Moses as their teacher or cornerstone of their faith. Meaning because Abraham had faith and it was credit to him as righteousness, if I have faith based on only the fact Abraham had faith and it was credit to him as righteousness, my faith will make me righteous as well. Moses by being the lawgiver in one sense though they came from God, found to be impossible to follow and only with sacrifice was forgiveness and hope restored. Jesus came to take away these two parts away of relying on the condition example of another was being taken away and the condition on relying on one works and obedience of the law as being salvation. Conditiion that one man faith was established based on another man's faith, thought this type of behavior does lead to faith it is not faith by itself. I believe because you believe, do not have merit though it might enforce or help real faith develp it not he source of genuine faith. God introduced his word, and also gave circumcision a sign of faith to Abraham, but man relied on circumcision by human hand and the not the circumcision of the spiritual heart as being a sign of faith or people of faith to much. Not given to spiritual application of what faith really was.

The problem arose first when Lamech killed a man in Genesis 4:23-24 where it says in verse 24, "If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold." His faith was God would revenge him sevenfold for his killing a man. No clue why he killed but Lamech found himself with faith he would be revenged by God for his sin. He said to his wives and so he felt he would be revenged based on what had happened to Cain. In truth our sin began with Adam and Eve because of their disobedience in heaven causing us all to decay because of orignal sin. We are offspring of the people that did the orignal sin and are cursed by it, but because of faith we are no longer cursed by original sin.

Does God measure our faith based on another faith or punish a person for the same reason he punishes another. Those that felt any storm was punishment we must ask why? Our conclusion our problem is because so and so had the same problem it must be why or this is what going to happen to you, because that what happened to me syndrome is what God is trying to prevent. It draws more people away from the truth of God's word then we can imagine and to the wrong conclusion. That is why faith is individual but it has one foundation stone to build each individual house and that is the cornestone(foundation stone) being Jesus. Anyone else trying to build someone else into a building of their design is making a sad mistake. Anyone trying to push their word into the situation is making a mistake. Why because their own word can not control, force, or make someone else be just like their design, no matter what. You take a child and train that child how to do something, he will find a solution to something he was asked to do if he does not like doing it your way. That why robotic vacuum cleaners are being made, no one like to push a vacuum. Some child said one day I will never push a vacuum again. The reason we have so many vegetable chopping devices, is someone said one they could do it better then the other guy and two they did not want to cut off their fingers in the proces of cutting up vegetables by hand. Plus it saves a few minutes in the kitchen. Does it? It depends, on if you no how to chop veggies or not like a pro. Some people say no sweat i just buy frozen veggies, saves more time and less trouble.

We are all unique and to have someone beside God and his word design us would be an error. Those people that say you are just like your father, either do not know your father, or you, because you are not a carbon copy even if you tried hard to be like your father or mother in design even to mannerisms. If we became like Abraham we all be travelers to a new land, if we all become like Moses we all be climbing a volcano(Mount Sinai) to talk to God, to carry the ten commandments down to break them all at one time, blaming a nation for our actions instead of taking responsibility for our actions. We all claim to have faith because we wear an arm band with the laws on it, and say we carry the law. Not a bad tradition but faith is not in the arm band, it is only a reminder of that faith.

The laws of God are written on the believers heart by the Holy Spirit and all believers contain the same laws, but we do not all work on the same law together at the same time. Our faith develops, and matures as God teaches us and we grasp that part of our faith. Yet we all carry the same cornerstone in our heart who is Jesus if we have faith in God's Son, HIs word.

The gardner in the original story is only suppose to tend and protect the fields and make profit, not take it from the owner. He only a highered servant. Yet he thinks he can take what is God's, and to keep it, he got to kills anyone God send to his people to see how things are going. Devil is who Christ came to destroy to show that man's law no authority over him or the devil for that matter. The devil that thought he could just kill God's son and get rid of the problem was the one that learned, he had no power but what God allowed over the people. God's word and promises remained for his people. His Son came to cut the tail and head off the leaders who thought they had all power. He took their heads and tails and grew and new group of faith under the cornerstone who name is Jesus and is of old as well as new. God wants us to worship him alone. God being Father, Son and Holy Spirit, all three parts being one and united as one force. This is marvelous what God does for man, because he builds the faith of the believers. I do not doubt God is building faith in Maui today and this week. Let us pray for the people there as they begin their restoration process. Pray for those that are beginning their own faith all over the world. That they will know Jesus Christ is Lord, That God made him the cornerstone of faith for a reason. He is the first and last. The Alpha and the Omega.

Dear Heavenly Father, what man destroys, you took the laws you gave the prophets and placed them in our hearts and establish the cornerstone of faith being your only begotten Son in which he is the only one we are to follow. You took your word and began to transform our lives. Continue the transformation process in our life so we be beautiful building unto you. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Genesis 4:23-24 KJV
23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.
24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

John 14:2 KJV
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

2 Corinthians 5:1 KJV
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

1 Corinthians 3:9-17 KJV
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
