Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Proverbs 3:4-7 KJV
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Trust is maybe the hardest thing to find in the world today. I myself found it better not to trust people, yet not to doubt their intergrity. Seems like a double standard and I will say perhaps. If you trust someone you need to understand their fallacy to fail your trust, as being human. When it comes to trusting God, you can bet that trusting God never fails. God may fail in your understanding of God's continual plan for your life, and God might fail your plans in the situation. Two things for certain human's plan may not line up with the will of God. To trust God desires good things for us is key one. Key two is to know our desires of what we ask need to be according to the will of God to be guarantee we get what we asked for. It does not mean God does not grant other things.

We all struggle, we all fall short of the glory of God. However to trust God is to know that our own understanding of the situation is finite compare to the full picture. Jeremiah may of stood in the sewer, but God's plan for his life was to bless him. Joseph may of been imprison, but the Lord desire from young age was to make him a man of great authority in the land of Egypt. Are we finite in our thinking only if we dwell on the sewer and the imprisonment and can not see the full picture of the journey of these two men of God. Point being we have to come to that place we are no longer saying the glass is half full but that glass is full. God's desire to make all believers kings and queens in his kingdom comes with us learn alot down here on earth about what is to be kings and queens. Can we be patient in our learning? It depends on our desperation in the sewer and imprisonment. If we wait on the Lord he will renew our strength, but meanwhile we maybe sitting in a place only the rats seem to love.

Can we acknowledge God in everything that happening in our life, whether everything is of God or not. Can we honor him in our present situation. Sometimes in truth we can not. There is a learning curve to somethings in our walk with God. Just know by acknowledging him in everything in our life, he will direct our part. The light of faith will carry us to a path of hope and trust in God.

I knew a person that their favorite verse was verses 5 and 6 of today's Bible passage. Though they admitted to struggle with the meaning of these verses throughout their life, they were good verses to live by. What does that mean, it means that these verses are a mouth full and hard to swallow at times during difficulties but ones worthy to live by. Do not think you will wake up and say today I will trust God and everything go perfectly as it should. It means that the difficulties of the day have a reason for being in your life. To trust God for the broader picture is to learn to walk by faith and not by sight. Not in your knowledge or your understanding because you see not the full picture of the situation, or even know the perfect will of God for someone elses life. Our journey is long, to trust now is far easier because when we see the fullness of God's plan develop we will know God's wisdom outweighs our own.

Dear Heavenly Father, to walk in the light of word, to acknowledge you in everything in our life, that even when we fail, you are still sovereign. That you see and know the reason for difficulties as well as smoothness of our pathway. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
