Understanding Faith 11/08/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisHebrews 11:1-3 KJV
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Faith is the substance of things hope for. In the continual scripture passage we see a nobelman in hope of his son's healing. What a wonderful hope for someone to hope for someone else. Yet when it comes not are we angry. Often we want something not for ourselves it often for another. Faith shared, is that hope for someone else to know the knowledge of God's power in one's life or those around ourselves as believers. What convinced you to receive Jesus as your Savior may not be the exact same for another. Hope for something without evidence. Nobelman had no evidence Jesus had healed his son by his word, until he asked the servant when was my son healed? More proof of Christ healing power without seeing it happen, only a hope that it had happened. Truth being tested with time of the healing. However the man had gone his way home without questioning Christ healing power to perform the healing. He went by.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by what the word of God. Evidence of the word of God all things created. For most of us that is not enough, for science they see mutation of things all the time into something else, from germs to other things that change in DNA of the world. Our sight on the word creating becomes distorted without faith that God created the heavens and earth by his word in six days. Yet we know on faith it happened. Our faith precious to us, but yet do we believe God's word when it comes to prophecy. Abraham believed God and journey to the promise land and got there in little time. And Moses was called by God to take Israel to the promise land and they believed because of the miracles, but how long could Moses had contained people in the wilderness for over forty years when you think on it, with by passing the land of hope and dreams because of unbelief of God's power, and yet God's power healed them in submission to Moses until they were ready to enter that promise land with a whole new generation of people. God word retained them, God's wonder retained them, God's miracle saved them. God's mercy held them to the point of their submission to God and his promise. How long is it going to take you to believe if you are not saved but desire it. I do not know, you maybe waiting for a sign, but do not be blind to the sign God gives you, pray to God to keep your eyes open to his evidence of faith, that you learn to trust on his word as the man in the story below. That your faith will not just be because you were raised that way to believe. That evidence of your faith will be so noted in your life, that you know that you are able to stand against the enemy based on the solidness of faith that God has built in your life. Do not be ashame of failing to believe, be ashamed that you missed the evidence God provided for you to know him and his word was true. God's word is full of faith, but it also full of human's being human. Countdown Day 17, may we hold to the word of God on faith, that even when we lack in the journey his word with assure us to hold to our faith. When the hour of realization comes, let us know your word of promise it to be savor, meditated and rejoiced upon.
Dear Heavenly Father may your word pentrate our hearts to the point we hold to see the promise of faith. In Jesus precious name, Amen. Continual Scripture Study: John 4:46-54 KJV
46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
John 20:29 KJV
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
