Patience Gives Hope
6/27/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Romans 5:1-11 KJV
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

How many are in a hurry this morning. I know I feel I am, yet in truth I not as busy as some people. The last few days I been sorting frozen meals I cook myself and saying will my budget hold. Every month for several years, I looked at my freezer monthly and said will it hold. When the pandemic hit, I was least effected in some ways then other people. Yet financially it was economic breakthrough that only last as long as the next break through. When I count meals, I looking do I have a healthy supply and will it make it through til things are better. It is a normal struggle people with past medical bills even when they no long in existence. I looked in my freezer this month and said great, not only another month but maybe two based on what I buy this month. I try hard to stay a little ahead. Those getting supply by other food sources, you are planning a month to week at a time, hoping for a better time to come, and hopefully it will. I feel rich when I see basic needs supplied. What is my point? We all worry, we all struggle and we all have to be patient in life. Bills and the basics are all some People are ever able to pay. Point being life goes on and the next month arrives with the same problems. People on the highway constantly never faced what they did during the pandemic as the world shut down. Some wondering if they make it home, whether on time or not on time.

There is a point to all this speech about struggles, security and patience. What I talking about did you learn to get what you need to do in order to survive in this world, by working hard daily, by manage what you do have, or did you learn to waste it away. I have never figured out how people could waste money in order to gain anything. Paying bills, checking your financial structure to make sure it will hold til the next storm is half the battle. The worker bees and ants learned long ago if they did not store food for winter they would starve. They also learn how important to have many nest, that if the queen died you might be able to wiggle your way into another hive or die with the queen. What is my point a person need patience as they work through every day struggles. Most of the time patience is waiting for the right time for things to occur to make things better. For people of faith it waiting on God to deliver, provide and even bring hope into the soul of reality of eternity being a long road. How many give up before they reach fifty. Those on the edge, why are you? Just because you might loose the things you value most, did you put yourself in that position or did the world? Patience is for a purpose. It to take that person on the edge back into the shelter of the building and say look, you made this far, why quit? Loosing stuff is part of life and it hurts when you loose precious items.

I lost some homemade items from family members and only have a few things left that were handmade. I probably treasure these items, though many are not on display or used today. I wonder at their value, but they represent a simpler time and hardwork to see children were happy. Yet these items are just items if lost, they did not loose their value, because they are deep within the heart. I learn to cross stitch in my twenties. I knew how to embrodiery from childhood, but I did not try counted cross stitch til adulthood. I sat and make my x's and then I finished my first picture, no clue what it was. I decided I wanted to do this huge picture because I wanted to make it for someone. Now I made other things but never spent that much time on a project. Three months later the task was done. Patience at doing anything takes time, and even if you have to learn to like something it takes time. It is the patience to try and do new things to complete the task involved.

God is making a taperesty of the universe. He making a painting he will one day destroy. Yet in that taperesty that is destroy is all the evil and knowledge of evil of the world in exchange of a better place. God is making a place for the believer in Christ. He been doing for ten millions of years and yet you and I only see this world this taperesty as it become woven, and completed for our time period. God's patience is definitely not ours. Definitely not mine. I look and think three months or in the case of my camping project it been going on for five years now. And I am a bit impatience to finish. Yet I see something else as each stage of my plans unfold it developing into something useable for my hubby and me, whether anyone else likes it or not. Can you imagine for a moment what God must feel like planning eternity for us with a set goaled and picture design, but having to wait patiencely to finish. The precision of his timing important. Nothing you or I can do to change that plan.

Now as far as our plans they are often destroyed with what our own mistakes, or the mistakes of the world. Our first mistake comes with sin against God and our second comes with not willing to wait on God to do what he promised in our heart he will do. He will do it in his timing and his way, not ours.

When you know someone on the edge, sometimes the best thing you can do is point out the things you know the person has already survived even if it trivial. Understanding of a tomorrow is half the battle and you can improve your tomorrow by your choices. It will hopefully gets a person thinking that time heals all wounds. Many things take time to complete from day, to weeks, to months and to years. And at least we on this side of God's million years, because we have the promise of eternal hope through Jesus death and resurrection for your and my sin. Today maybe the day you got to plan redoing, but it not the end of the world, and realize this life is only a fraction of eternity with God.

When we walk with God in life, we know we have a partner who never fails us, comforts us, and gives us hope. I been married 33 years and in truth I learn no matter if you want to be there for someone or they want to be there for yout, they may not always be. God in his love for us gives us hope, love, comfort, joy, peace, and more when we receive his free gift of his Son. He begins with his Son being the word, and us learning to follow his Spirit, following the teaching of Christ, follow Christ by taking up our cross and following. Because of our hope, we are not ashamed, because God cares for each and everyone us. His provision, his mercy and grace is real. His open doors are real. Do we have that hope? Do you have Jesus in your heart. Do you believe God sent him to be the Savior of the world, both past and future. We are living in a time of hope with the hope of God's word. Try Jesus today, lay your crisis at the cross and know his love works patience even in tribulation in our life. That God gives us the grace in times of hardship, trouble, and sorrow. There is nothing that to little or to big that God can not enable you as believer. Take up your cross and follow in Christ Jesus to do the will of God no matter the circumstances you find you life in. Ask him for that patience He has to help you through life journey.

Dear Heavenly Father, breath patience, hope and your love into our life. Breath patience so we hold to waiting for the promise hope of Christ return, because you with us always even to the end of the age to come. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Colossians 1:9-14 KJV
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
