Loving God: Lesson 1 2/04/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisRevelation 21:1-10 KJV
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
Can you say you love God tonight? If we think of all the wrath of God that will come on the earth, can you still say you love God? I think our emotion to care for people can get in our way sometime in understanding that God has chosen a time for his wrath, and despite our love to see the whole world saved, it is not going to happen that way. No matter how angry or mad we get that we ourselves can not invoke or force God's mercy to remain on the earth, it will not happen. When we think of the ark for the believers it is the New Jerusalem, we are the bride of Christ/church. We need to pray for lost souls that God may redeem them before the end of time. That God's word will pentrate their heart has it has our own that believe. The New Jerusalem is not called an ark, but if we has believers are together with God and Christ in the Jerusalem, how can we deny it a place of safety at the time of not only Christ return but the wrath of God.
If you are saved by believing in Christ Jesus, or have yet to and want to, then you know what you can be saved and know your saved. There a button called how to be saved on this page. Yet will you push it to learn more about being saved. It is your choice and I leave it to your choice online. I can not force you to believe nor can I stop you from believing. However I would never want to stop you from believing. What is my point. God in his wisdom has chosen the vile, the evil, the adultress of faith, those in idolatry to be cast out of the face of the earth. In other words the place of eternal lake of fire is a place of torment, but of the corruption of the earth. We can not imagine it beyond that the punish of unbelief is there along with the punishment of sin in general is in this place.
I know that as a child of God we are to walk in love and not in the filth of the evil of this world. In Romans 1 it talks about how man gave up their faith in order to build and create their own idols to worship. If we stop right there, it is basically saying man is deciding who is God and giving him power that not his to give. Man wants to control on who we worship. Man way of creating a God of his choosing is corrupt and in disobedience to God's first command of obedience to God from the very beginning of human life. We get to Christ return and we see the saints in the New Jerusalem, the opposite of Adam and Eve being cast out of the garden. Is not man placed in a place God has designed especially for him, a place of protection while God's wrath commences called the New Jerusalem. This earth we are not protect by the elements, beyond what God has ordained for us to be protected from. Yet he called us to be children of light to walk in the light, to serve him in the light and to turn from sin.
In Ephesians 5, it speaks of walking in love as Christ loved us. We are to return Christ love by obeying him. The desire of heaven comes with a price of fleeing the lust of the flesh, the desires of the body, and to yield to faith in Christ and God the Father. The idea of loving others is part of God's command but we first have to learn to love God and learn what he expects from us. How we give love back is by obeying him and his word. God loved us. The world wants to ride down from heaven in the New Jerusalem, but they do not want to pay a price of obedience to God by first believing in Jesus? A gift given freely does not cost a dime or even a penny, but God's gift of love is expected to be returned in the form of faith first, and then works of obedience is the way we express our love back to God. Until we can do this, is our faith but act of words not understood that action is expression of our thankfulness for what God through Christ has done for us. The only requirement is to believe in Jesus to be saved, but God does not want us to use his free gift to dirty it, tarnish it, but to allow his gift of love to shine forth to others through us. Let us learn to love God back by our actions. It not easy and it a daily walk of first faith in God and Christ Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to love you back because you first loved us and gave your Son for our sins that receive this gift of salvation. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: Ephesians 5:1-5 KJV
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
