Is Your Resolution A Revolution 12/31/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisGalatians 5:1 KJV
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Every year people make resolution to either loose weight, exercise more, or some rational or irrational change in their life, they begin planning this change long before January 1 and decide by New Year that this change is going to come now or never. Though it is good to make resolution to our life, the biggest one you can make is receiving Jesus Christ has Lord and Savior today. Ending this year on the best hope still of 2022 and 2023 of faith in the Savior, God sent to all of us to save us from our sins. Christ has made you free from resolutions that cause revolution of our individual soul and body. Our war is no long against God but freedom to live in the liberty in which Christ has made us free, not to be entangled to the yoke of bondage called sin. Is gluttony why you don't loose weight then that is sin, your no longer in bondage of as a believer in Christ, however it is a hard change in one's life if overeating is causing your weight gain. If you are not over eating consider are you doing the best you can until a solution can be discovered to the problem. Sometimes the problem is solved with a prayer and other times God wants us to find the solution to the problem, so that the problem is resolved not with just a prayer but over all health, because weight it effect other aspects of your life as well. By restoring your body to as much natural health even with proper nutrition, it means longevity, unless God takes you home with him in his timing not our own. Somethings are meant to be discovered and God knows it beneficial for us to understand the health of our bodies. People often go through a lot of test by doctors to discover it and other things God wants to just deliver a person from because the problem is not going to continue. Sin is a problem that continues, but it is not something that as to remain in a believers life. One the first sin has to do with belief. Whether we believe God can take away our sin through faith in his Son. Then comes done to simply asking God for forgiveness for sin, knowing Christ came to pay our sin debit to him. Then our revolution already began before we were born that our sin effects our relationship with God when we willfully disobey him and continue not to believe him.
As a believer, we are no longer predestine to sin, but our act of willful disobedience is sin. If God has given us the freedom or liberty to live however we want in accordance to his Spirit and will for our life, then why are we still entangled by sin? Christ blood covers all our sin, but are we still in sin, not the sin of unbelief, but the sin of learning to obey our Heavenly Father, to live holy unto him. We no longer predestine to sin, or in bondage to presdestination of sin that reigned in our mortal body before salvation. We can believe God and still sin. Adam and Eve believed God but still ate of the fruit. It perhaps because of the deception that caused the sin in the garden, but man also was striving to obey God, when he named all the animals. Adam's strive kept him being alienated from God, only alientated from paradise. God continue to talk to Adam and Eve, and Adam and Eve would tell their children about God. God would speak to their children as well. Sin got Cain cast out of God's sight for eternity.
We live in the freedom of faith, but with faith comes responsibility to strive to be like Jesus, to live for God doing the will of the Father, by doing good. Simple enough, until you cross the lines of man without knowledge or with knowledge. Obedience to God should be simple enough to do it God's way and leave the rest to the sinner to do. To separate ourselves from the sin of the world, and to be like Jesus going about doing good. Our revolution is the war within us that fight against our humanity. No need to fight against our will, if we follow Jesus for our will should be his will, if we lay our will at the foot of the cross where we got saved. Learning to let go and be in obedience tot he will of God, does not mean you don't make your bed, do the dish, go to work and so forth, it means a spiritual obedience to to the will of God. Do not entangle yourself with the things you know are wrong. instead stand in the liberty of the knowledge God has given you of knowing what is right and remain in the will of God for your own life.
Our individuality say we are survivors because of faith in God. A man walking down a lonely road, without job, without out money and without direction, finds himself free of the yoke of even the world, but with no solution of what he will eat that day or where he is truly headed. For some this sound nice in thinking but in reality, the task of work, the task of having some money means one has direction. For the man head out into the world looking for any odd job to pay for a place to sleep or food for his belly, he now has direction of what way he needs to go in. Bondage to the world is to be enslaved by the yoke of worry, stress, and loss of direction. Freedom to be able to work, to live and provide for one's needs and another is to be out of bondage. To be enslave to sin, is to sin in hopes of getting a free ride, gratification of one's needs, and desires without ever seeing that life style of sin will take you futher then you ever wanted to go. The abundance of wealth will buy every weight of sin out there, yet a person choose how he will use his wealth, even in secret. Then which way one chooses the way of evil or good works. The way of caring for others despite what the world says not to. Do you obey God and care for the dying in need of God. Those entrapped in bondage of sin that leads to death, the grave, and everlasting torment.
If you want no revolution follow the will of God and receive Christ as Lord and Savior today. If you want resolution choose Christ pathway. Knowing God takes care of all things in due season. That his will for your life is nothing but good if you obey him. Do not be entangles by the bondage that leads to death, that life might have instance gratitifciation for a time, but it does not last through eternity.
Dear Heavenly Father help us to choose your pathway, and the yoke and revolution against you, but the resolution of faith in Christ Jesus, no longer waging the war of sin and death, but in submission to your will and ways for our life. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
