God's Ability Beyond His Creation Of Physics
12/11/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Luke 1:5-17 KJV
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,
9 According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.
11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Aaron was the brother of Moses who help lead people in the wilderness. Elizabeth would of been many great granddaughters later, but one of God's promises would come through Aaron's priesthood line. As far as I can reflection there no evidence Aaron line was promised this as King David line was concerning the Messiah. Elizabeth was barren, and had not had any children. In fact she perhaps longed for children even into old age, as she watch other woman who had conceived and bare, without being able to conceive herself. Zacharias and Elizabeth walked in the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. Their righteousness was based on faith in God. In fact these two people were in right standing before God because not only did they have faith but they lived by God's instruction to man recorded on the rock Moses brought down from Mount Sinai and the ordinance which came later in regards to the laws given to protect the people and establishement of the Priesthood by Aaron. Few years ago I went through the entire law of God and explain how each part was still in vogue even today, though man has expanded on many of the laws. It was probably before Cov19 that I went through all the laws in scripture. Most of the laws were simple enough and proper to obey no matter who you were. Some ordinance even pertain to sanitary and dietary laws. Most were common sense laws that were written down to help in healthy living in general. Some laws had to do with sin both spiritual and legal. Meaning they were to put God first, other's second in regards to how the law was obeyed. Other second in regards to caring for others and being thoughtful toward others. Then the laws of taking care of oneself, just as you expect others to take care of themselves. The traditions concerning the priesthood carried out by those of the priestly line. Now the father of Zacharias is not given but Elizabeth ancestory is. Aaron descendants born into the priesthood, not necessarily people of faith, but people that would of had knowledge of the traditions of the priesthood because it was taught to them. Her ancestry bearing no wait on God choosing this family to have a son in old age. The fact they were righteous and obey the law made them qualified to be the parents of the forerunner of Christ. Like Abraham and Sarah they were to old to bear children but that did not stop them from having a son by the will and power of God.

The will and power of God, is not defined even by his supernatural laws of physics he designed. Later a man develops the knowledge of DNA and how to make the body do what it should not be able to do, of course today a woman at eighty could have a baby with hormone replacement but would a woman of eighty want to have a baby, the answer is probably not. We do not know the exact age of Elizabeth and Zachariah but we assume because it says they were will stricken in years that she was past child bearing years. The ability impossible like at the time of Sarah having a child name Isaac. An impossible feat by any married couple that was in their eighties and nineties. Yet man lived longer at the time of Abraham and Sarah. The feat impossible by normal physics. Something had to happen that gave the ability for conception and gave the body ability to not only conceive but to carry that babe nine months. Zachariah no doubt had heard the story of Abraham and Sarah, but it was not enough evidence for him to just take the angel at his word.

Zachariah had gone to the temple to fulfill his duties as a priest and went into the Holies of Holies where the Angel Gabriel told him of the coming of his first born son. He told him, he was not to drink any wine or strong drinks. He told him that this son he would have would bring joy and gladness at the birth of his son. Yet this child would grow and turn the hearts of the people back to God. That his sole duty was to be the forerunner to God's Messiah, Jesus Christ. What does this really mean. If I go to church and never heard the Gospel the preacher in the pulpit is a forerunner to me meeting Jesus and asking him into my heart. He is the one that will preaching not only good news but the wrath of God to come if I do not repent of my sins. He does not just tell the love of God and only the beautiful works of God but he would be telling the truth of what is to come if I choose not the ways of God. Some of the ways of God is simple enough. The ways of God is more then correction, but about faith in God that leads to righteousness. Righteousness leads to salvation through obedience first to his word at the Time of Zachariah and then salvation. At the time after the resurrection faith brought definitely eternal life. Faith in God has always meant eternal life, but it did not without works of faith being present because in reality what we do should tell who daughter and son we truly are by our action. Why because faith is a growing process, it means physical action is not always involved, but just simply believing God and submiting to his will. This is a spiritual surrender or act of faith.

If I define God's will by physics, God's will would never be performed in the life of Abraham and Sarah or Zachariah and Elizabeth. If I define Noah ability to survive by ark he built, i probably not receive that truth either. Why, I was looking at the show on television that my husband likes to watch. In that show were tractor trailors that had wreck. They would call for a tow truck to literally pull them back up on the road. Something I notice is the aluminum on those trucks that barely held together on impact, even if they were completely destroyed in the since of impact crushing the metal. Wood in general is not as strong as metal and that ark of God was made of gopher wood, and made of material only known to man at that time. Wood is not sturdy unless it become petrified. Yet it is not strong to endure hits against mountain side or against trees and other floating debrie. Yet the ark held fast. If it had been turned to stone it would of given the ark ability to be like a tank, and if that process of minerals need to turn it that way was known it would be possible, but not something probably done. There is no talk in scripture of petrifying wood into stone.

There is a point to my madness this morning talking about the ark, things God instructed man to do that fails humane logic when other information of what would occured in the process. Would the ability of protection given by wooden ship, be protective against all the things a flood would cause. Our idea of it ability to endure with animals and human life onboard even more questionable now, yet the story is a story that stood up against time. The ability of creating human life by normal conception impossible but with God it was possible, because it would carry out the special plan of God. If we define physics by only God's law of motion and ability by all process created in the universe, conception can not happen in old age, but by the will and ability of God all things are possible.

One can get lost in the idea of the conception being by the will of God to the point of seeing him as a type of Savior but not the Savior. Meaning he was directing people back to God the Father, and would announce who the Son of God was. Angel Gabriel who spoke to Zachariah was telling him about the greatness of his son. That part must of sound great but it did not sound possible to the poor in faith Zachariah. His faith tomorrow will get a power boost as we continue the story in Luke chapter one.

Dear Heavenly Father remind us who you truly are, that your word is not even define by the physics you established for man to understand the interworkings of the motion and principals you put into motion for the world to function. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Hebrews 11:3 KJV
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
