Road To, Through And Beyond The Cross: Lesson 26
4/26/2022

Daily Devotions:
by Christina Farris

Hebrews 12:1-4 KJV
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Philippians 2:1-11 KJV
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Christ is sitting on the right handside of the throne of God his Father. Why is this knowledge so important to humanity. To know Christ position is beside his Father, though they be one in unity and Yet in separate personification here. Christ claim to be the Father in the book of John. Here we see him as an individual being. In Psalms 110 we see in the Old Testament the Son beside the Father. Position, or station important here. When oneness is the issue you see the title of God has one, when you need the personification of God in three persons(Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is used, one reason is Christ position as teacher, and example to follow and not to be Lord over all in a since of our authority in Christ. God made man Lord of all creation, but not Lord of everything. Christ shows are position has son of man, and not God. He came as perfect example for you and me. Christ as an example can not be God, but only god. This is confusion part because Christ is fully God. Jesus walked the road of humanity in human shackles of flesh. Yet he also became the example of bearing our cross in the world do to the law of man. God never intended for man to suffer for the cross of Jesus, but he knew we would. God never intended for man to fall short of his glory, but through Adam and Eve the very first sin by free will, the sin of man continued. In God's wisdom a salvation plan was made for you and me. That salvation plan comes through his Son Jesus, who is the express image of his Son in human flesh(Hebrews 1:3) purges our inquities to sit at the right hand of the Father.

Let's slow down and go back to one basic concept about God, God is Spirit. When you see God in three person's you see his Spirit in tangible formate to non tangible format. God created Adam and Eve and when sin enter the garden, he purged the trangressors out. In doing so, he made a plan to return man to the right relationship to him, if they desired it and would receive it. Man either could have the spiritual transformation and a one day physical transformation or he could face the decay only with no hope of new mansion/body. In order for this to happen in regards to us being spiritually reborn into the express image of his Son, we had to receive his Son. We had to believe God's word that he would provide the Lamb for the sacrefice. Abraham had to trust God for the sacrifice, though no doubt as he took his son up the mountain to a place to sacrifice his son on the altar, he said to his Son, God would provide the sacrifice. The sacrifice would not be human, but covered with our humanity called sin.

The eternal struggle of man, who has to deal with his sin causing God to lay his word down and pick it back up, not defeating God's word, but laying it down long enough to demonstrate He could raise us from the dead if we would choose to receive him as Lord. Choose to listen to him and not another. We get in a place we fail to see Christ is clothed with the garment of punishment called human flesh that was corruptible not incorruptible. When he turn to heaven he receive his uncorruptible garment back. When a person chooses God that incorruptibility will be theirs if we believe in Jesus. We are no longer shackled by the laws of this earth, but put on the laws of God.

The price Christ paid for us to have a new body, a new mind, a new spirit and a new heart came with going through the human captivity of our world we live in, and facing the pushment of man by man. No longer will we look at God's punishment without seeing reward through his Son. Is Jesus' cross our punishment for man's sin? We can not heal man of sin. We can not heal man and cure sin for eternity. Only God can through his word, through his Son and his sacrifice for our sin. Christ suffered through mocking, through beating, and through the cross. All things man suffers for sin against humanity is because man is allowing devil to be our God. That devil can not heal, only lead us to a path of destruction and not everlasting life. When we choose the road of faith and following after Christ, we will suffer for our humanity. Yet God cast us out for our humanity and the free will he designed. Free will saying you can have it but not in my house. If a father or mother says you can have a party, but not in my house. You free to go outside in the yard, or elsewhere and live it up. No that not what God said if you leave my house you going to make godly choice or face more consequence called eternal death. Earth is the choosing ground of eternal death, or eternal life.

Christ in his glory showed us he got his position immediately back when he paid the price for the sin of the world. We can not die for the sin of the world to remove it, but we might die at the hand of man that is acting in sin. If our life was taken or stolen from us without just cause it is sin. We might trip over someone foot because they stuck it out to cause us to fall or accidently fall. If they plan to cause our fall, they did not plan for us to see it in order to step over or go around the foot. God did not place the serpent to trip us, but to test our obedience. Test our awareness of the enemy that lurks in our own heart and mind. Make us aware of our own desires that are not necessarily God's plan for us. God created us for a purpose to have fellowship with him. To have commune with him as a family does with each other. It like adding a pet, or children to create a family. God never intended us to sin, but the possibility was provided by Him. He desired us to choose his way because it was best.

God sent Son to pay the price for our humanity, to show us if we did the will of him, we would rise again, we would be home in paradise by our faith in Christ Jesus, but our sin had to be removed by his Son, by the act of the Father's design. Our position in Christ restore to original humanity before the first sin. God position never changed beyond his cloak of humanity.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the free gift of salvation that is available for all that will believe and receive it as their salvation plan provide by you through your Son Jesus. Help us to receive Christ as example to follow in this life time. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Continual Scripture Study: Isaiah 53:1-12 KJV
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Hebrews 2:6-11 KJV
6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
