Matthew 21:1-7 KJV
1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

Dealing with prophecy is not alway understood the importance of getting it right so to speak. Other three gospels leave out colt. Matthew is writting the Jewish people. The importance of the accuracy surrounding prophecy is important to the Jewish people. To the gentiles how he rode into the Jerusalem made no difference, nor what hill he road in from. However to the Jew it is important information for detecting the truth of the prophecy.

The one thing I do not like about prophecy in our world today is it can lay a foundation of inaccuracy for those that try to reproduce prophecy or prophetic word on their own. Prophecy hidden for only those that knew how to decipher could even follow it. A hidden truth beyond the meaning of where it was place even in a speech. Anyone watching "Survivor" a reality game show has seen a new safety idol put in play by the producers, where a player has to speak a phrase in conjunction with whatever they are talking about, only the ones with the hidden clue knows what it means. The sentence does not necessarily seem to fit in the discourse of other sentences. If it does, then the it even more hidden and not easily debunked. Yet until all three phrases are said they had no immunity. Only those with the phrase and only the director knows about the immunity, or anyone that has one that shares it with another knows it. Now Jesus is not immunity idol, but in a since he is, because he brings one thing to anyone that believes in him, a protection, or get out of hell free card, yet the pass has it own rules within it. One we must spread the good news of Jesus, must be willing to take up our cross and follow Jesus daily, and we have to learn to love God and others, and repent of our sin. Prophecy surround the Messiah had to all be played out in order for Jesus to not only fulfill prophecy but proves He is the Messiah to the people looking for him.

Matthew records his gospel to respond to the Jewish question concerning prophecy surrounding Jesus. The other three Gospels do mention some prophecy, but not all the prophecy concerning Christ. If a Jew picks up and studies all four Gospels then they perhaps will know who Jesus is, just because of prophecy alone. The words echoing from Old Testament prophecy.

Jesus sends two of disciples to go and get a ass and colt. Importance of the ass and colt is that Jesus would set on the ass, with his feet draped across the back of the colt. The way a king road into the city for coronation. Important but to the gentiles this had no meaning. Jesus actually came into the city riding a she ass and a colt. Prophecy fulfilled. If we are not careful when following prophecy, we will discover that devils will try and imitate it. That why ministers and teachers need to be careful what they speak. It better to be silent then to speak.

Ever word Christ spoke concerning his prophecy included even is death, being lead like a lamb to the slaughter. We see man killing God's word by punishmnet inflicted from the turning of the money table, to the road of man trying to kill the words he speaks and being blind to the prophecy concerning the Messiah. Blind to the fact he would go to the cross. God plan design the pathway in which he would go to his cross. Tomorrow we will finish the story of the Triumphal Entry. The importance is even disciples obey Jesus every word and would find what Jesus spoke and do as he told them to do.

Dear Heavenly Father, there those that will not understand this full message, but instill in their hearts that your prophecy of a she ass and foal was fullfilled. That your word would come to pass as told, for your Spirit still speaks your word. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
