Road To, Through And Beyond The Cross: Lesson 4 4/04/2022
Daily Devotions: by Christina FarrisMark 10:46-52 KJV
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
The point of a solution and a point that solution is God mercy. how many times had Bartimaeus cried out to God we will not know, but his day of deliverance when God's only begotten Son heard his cry after passing through Jericho. As blind Bartimaeus had reach his limit and want his healing to and he began to cry have mercy on me Son of David. He knew who Jesus of Nazareth was. Jesus stop and called for him to come, and Jesus said what do you want me to do. He said Lord that I might receive my sight. Jesus said your faith has made you whole and the man began to follow Jesus.
Our toleranc for our situation can brings us to a place of seeking God's mercy before we ask for God's help, for Christ's help. At this point I want to believe Blind Bartimaeus was tired of not being able to see and having to find his way home. Whatever the reason Blind Bartimaeus is begging for mercy, not asking begging for mercy of his cross in his life. Jesus ask what he wants and he said to be made whole. And he is made whole because of his faith Jesus said.
It takes faith to believe you are healed, and it takes faith to ask for God's mercy and healing power. It takes sometimes people reaching the breaking point of not faith but seeking God for deliverance. Sometimes faith can be flippant. It not a lack of faith, but it nice words spoken, but it not real, but one reaches that breaking point of knowing God is able but hasn't and yet one is asking and seeking healing. That the point I believe Bartimaeus was. Immediately after being healed he began to follow Jesus.
Are you ready to follow Jesus. Are you saved? Ask Jesus for his mercy and grace in your life. I not writting today as good as I am able too. Reason being, I had unexpected phone call, that needed attention. I took care of it, and went on to write the devotion today. Jesus response to the problem was did he need Jesus standing there, only to pray. Do we pray for our own healing, do we reach a place our illness is just to much. God seems to either bring healing, or give us grace for another day. Can we wait on healing? Depends on how much pain one is in, and how much mercy and grace is God pours out on us in our hour of need.If he doesn't supply the healing, his grace is sufficient for our needs. We trust God for healing and for the time period of waiting. That breaking point where the tears pour and you have faith for healing but healing comes not, are you willing to rely on God's grace for you. Are you willing to allow him to take you through the journey of faith?
Dear Heavenly Father open the hearts and minds of those in faith. Help us to trust in your mercy and grace for not only our healing, but the healing of those around us in need of your loving grace. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Continual Scripture Study: 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
