School Days by Christina Farris 8/02/2020School season starts for some in mid August and I often mention school in September, but with the pandemic, I think it is necessary now. What would Jesus do about the current school situation. He walk in and heal the crowd. Yet we have only the power to heal that God allows. We only have the power to pray in the name of Jesus. When we think of school and church, more time is spent in the school house then the church. Yet it still true with the new scheduling offer for the new school year. Of course most people work 9 to 5 jobs and others 12 hour shifts. To send children to school for eight hours and skip a day only seems like an easy solution. Social media and school videos helping with classroom online, but is it really a solution. Time will tell how effective new guidelines for schools across our land will work for us, but what it also does is redefine how our children learn and socialize. What I suggest if you are uncomfortable with sending your children to school, and private school not opposition, keep them home but do not teach them fear. Worse thing we do is keep our children locked away with no socialization, they are growing learn through socializing.
There is Nothing wrong with teaching at home, or learning through friends and neighbors. Many state governments have outline of what homeschoolers should be learning to keep up with regular classrooms. Oppositions are out there, and just because you not good at subject, maybe someone else will help. What I am saying is what best for one may not be best for someone else. |
My Own Journey: Back To The Gym by Christina Farris 8/02/2020One of the hardest goals is staying fitting even in this time of pandemic. Nothing wrong with working out at home if there space, or going for a walk in the park, or around the block, or across town. Yet are we moving from our couches or sitting and little our muscles become weak from non use. Don't worry it takes a lot of time to loose some muscles strength, but other muscle strength is immediately. What I mean if you go three months you going to feel in your workplace, and if you exercised daily, you still going to feel for you did not work out 8 hours probably or however long you work. Desk job you use to sitting, so only thing not exercised is the brain perhaps, unless you read, watched tv, or did other mental activity. Getting back to speed will take time. Not impossible to go regroup and go back to work. How you feel when returning will also depending on your physical strength as you get older. A fifty year old does not have the same energy level as a twenty year old, but often more professient at some task, because of years of training.Basically what I am saying don't stay on the couch to long. Don't sit to long. And don't rest to long, for the road back to regular work load will be different after even a short time frame. |
Put God Back In School by Christina Farris 8/02/2020Why is God necessary to our children? They are the generation coming up with either God or no God. Each generation must choose whether to have faith in God or not to believe in God. When we remove Christian world out of our schools we removing the carriers of faith. If we take the love of God into the school you find many superficial types of love. Yet compassion, friendship, isolation does several things, remove God also from society. The devil been trying to take God away from school for decades now and even centuries.Yet God's people still arise. Why because God arises in our hearts in times of crisis to share Jesus, to share to keep those dying from facing the fire pit of hell, to give hope to dying, to those in need and to those facing difficult roads.
One of the things the devil has done is say Christians remove your kids out of public school, because it will corrupt your children. In truth it might corrupt the child, but what can we teach our children in regards to their response to the world. You do not have to be preachy to love, ofter hope and help to another person. You do not have to preachy, to give a good response, good thought, or a helping hand. You do not have to be selfish, but give a piece or paper and sometimes a pencil to another student in need. We do not have to imitate bad behavior of other students. We use to be able to share our lunches with a friends, but that is taboo right now I got a feeling. Yet sometimes sharing Christ is about loving others with sharing hope when God's speaks to the heart to do so. The door opened at the time for someone to know Christ. continue above..... |
Put God Back In School
.....continue from left column bottom
Teach the children of today how to be Christlike without shoving Christ down their throats too. Give them the opportunity to grow in the knowledge of their Bible through devotions, teaching them about praying to God and giving them the knowledge they can have a relationship with God themselves and can go directly to him, about all things in their life.

Jesus Is The Thirst Quencher by Christina Farris 8/02/2020Summer days have been hot this year, maybe more then other summers, with the humidity after heavy rain, soaring. Trying to find that cool drink of ice tea, lemon ade, hawaiian punch, soda, plain water, and much more just does not cut it when the heat is scorching. Yet the women at the well in John 4 found living water, water that one would never be thirsty again. The thirst quencher is Jesus. We know longer thirst for what we know is true. As Jesus sat talking to the woman at the well, he began to speak words, he knew to be true about her. She had not told him of her past or anything. She knew in her heart she was seeing the Messiah speak to her. So she ran back to her village and brought the town folks to meet him saying is this not the Christ. Knowledge of who Jesus is, is the thirst quencher for our soul if we will believe and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. That how He quenches our thirst by knowledge of who He is and his redeeming power. Are you thirsty still? Receive Christ today. Take a look at the buttons on the top. There is button that says how to be saved. Take time to read the scripture and pray the prayer there and receive Christ today and make him your thirst quencher for eternity, knowing he is the living water of faith the one we hope and long for, that he is our redeemer and Savior to the world. John 4:13-30 KJV
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

Rival Year by Christina Farris 8/02/2020Baseball, football, basketball, soccer, tennis, track, racing and many sports are faced with quarantine, many wonder how it will be effecting normal rival games for high school, and other schools. I be honest, if we want healthy players we got to keep them healthy, and yet no one is exempt from disease. No today not about pandemic, not by far. The athletes of faith that run the race toward Jesus need to be well and strong in faith. Spiritual wellness is important to the mind, body and soul. It gives the reassurance of hope if met with life or death. It is the wholesome hope of resting place in eternity. It begins with that relationship with Jesus the Savior of the world. Some do not understand a relationship. What you mean you can know Jesus in a personal way, the answer is yes. That personal way is to receive him first as Lord and Savior and learn to listen to the Spirit.
I can not tell what is going to happen tomorrrow or the next day, where the pandemic is going to hit next, but I can tell you, you can learn to trust in Jesus. You learn to follow his lead. You can be a rival of God or a friend to God. You choose your path to live for Jesus or live in the direction of being the rival of God. You look like everyone else outwardly but inward you are not a child of God or a follower of Jesus. You know in your heart you hate, you despise and your heart is pure evil. You have a choice to choose Jesus and to follow in his will, or you choose to follow the heart of disobedience and do the opposite.
When playing the game of football you choose to try to play offense to the other team. When you choose disobedience to God you are offenses to God and are not part of the defense team. Baseball there is no offense, you hit a ball and run to safety, and if you not smart or listen to the coaches you land being out before you get to second base. Soccer you try hard to move the ball to the goaled with your feet only to find the opposition to steal what you got instead of asking to know Jesus, and the power of healing, power of walking through the storm with one's Savior. Instead the soccer team steals the ball to drive it down the opposite direction, thinking they can use God for money and fame. Tennis you try to love but the score at love will not win you the game, you still have to swing that racket and hit the ball hoping your opponent misses and crumbles to his knees. Sometimes in life you have to play hardball. If you run the track of life, you know if you race toward Jesus, all going in the direction will win, those taking different course will soon find that road not safe to travel. Those racing around the track told self distance choosing party life, is finding out they are not immune to attach themselves to a deadly road, that cost both career and family. You choose your life, but the road to Jesus is away from the party crowd. There will be a celebration in heaven, in our churches, and in homes with family and friends, to celebrate the road of hope, faith and family/friends. If you going to play sports make sure your on the side that will win, if you going to run make sure you going toward Jesus and not toward the devil. If you going to love, have a little compassion for the other player, instead of trying to even the score. Don't forget to throw a pass to right opponent because to give to the other side, is not winning your game. If you going to hit the ball strive for the homerun, it save time and energy for all.
