Give To God

(13)  And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
(14)  And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
(15)  Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
(16)  And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
(17)  And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

What is God's and what is the government, Pharisees and Herodians asked Jesus. Two types of government existed under Roman rule, The rule of nation, and the rule of the country. Rule of both religious and legal. Israel was both a religious and legal law type of government. Religious law government were the officers of the Sanhedrin predonimately Pharisees at the time of Jesus or court justice. Then there was the government of the Roman law that over saw the court and the kings courts or Herodians. Taxes would be paid to both the king's and the Temple's courts. What was the people suppose to pay. Give to Caesar or to God. These two groups sent their people inquiring of Jesus about taxes.

The hardest thing for man to do is decide sometimes whether to pay money to God or to give to the government. Jesus taught to give to the government what was the governments. What is on the coin made by human hands was the inscription of Caesar. Give Caesar his positions. Give to God what is God's. What is God everything his word declares, everything He creates, and everything He provides for each of us. Most say give a ten percent but what God wants is all of us, not just one or two of us. Simply this, when we give to God give our time, our offerings, and our increase to God. If it belongs to government give it to them. You need not what the government wants. God is willing to provide for you. Yet if it is yours then it up to you to decide where it goes and how it used. What God wants is people to first love him. Love God and love others. That is what God wants. Give God your love. Jesus taught it simply give to God what is God's and pay your taxes.
